It doesn’t work. Thomas Moore tried it and a lower bracket from the s/c components would interfere with that hps hose. I had a set and was gonna put them on but didn’t cuz he found out it wouldn’t work....

I've gotten pretty good at cutting belts. using a kitchen cutting board and a few brand new blades in a knife make it near perfect. just be aware to hold the knife straight up and down. the 80 grit sand at idle is a slick move man!

My cuts are good. My OCD just gets the best of me and they have to be right on like the other side. I use a razor in a vice but the razors deviates the cut as you go so that's the issue really.

I follow you. I found a cutting board to work great. just take your time and remind yourself what the belt costs:) do you feel the rpm is better than the green belt?

I did mine this year too.
Roof: 80mil cld, heat wave pro thermal barrier, 1/2 melamine foam

Doors and walls: 80mil cld, 1/2 melamine foam, 1/4 ccf and 1/8” mlv

Floors: 80mil cld, heat wave pro thermal barrier, 1/4 ccf and 1/8” mlv

Huge difference in road and exhaust noise. Totally worth the 3-4 days it took. You think you’re nervous about dropping the headliner, the FJ one is huge and difficult to manage. But ultimately it ended up being easy. Additional thickness behind the panels was easy to manage. Took a little finesse and trimming but got it done.

By far man. After doing some research I found that the Green fleetrunner belts were designed for high mileage fleet vehicles not for high boost applications.. most of us run high boost considering that we are stuck with 5 rib serpentine belt setups. We need the toughest stuff we could get our hands on. Obviously I need more time to test the belt to see how it holds up to time and heat, but so far I like it a lot!

well I have a new green ready to go on. maybe I'll switch things up next year if your test results prove high marks!

Im sure @BillDaCat8 knows how well the gates RPM belt last with time and heat. He’s been running one longer than most

Anywhere nearby you would suggest? But summer is almost over anyway, I think I can make it lol

Couldn’t tell you. But yes, dual e fans.

I actually asked him about it and he said the 2 are actually quite different because of my 6th gear. He suggested the a761 kit for what I’m trying to achieve.

Also after many humorous calls back and forth between him and his distributor he decided to sell me the kit directly. Never again he says. He doesn’t like being liable for any issues that may arise.

Thought absolutely everyone and their grandmas in here had the wrap mod

The blower whine doesn’t bother me, but I will deaden the firewall if the instrument panel ever comes out for any reason.

I tried the Pioneer at the suggestion of a friend of mine. The Pioneer was ok, but I’ve always preferred Alpine and ended up switching to the ILX-207 and have been much happier with it.

Customer service is the biggest reason I switched from OVT to HPT. Mat was the first one to offer tuning for our trucks, but there were/are a lot of missed deadlines and broken promises. (He tends to over-promise, but under-deliver.)

Buy your MPVI2 (with credits) from whatever reputable dealer currently offers the best deal. Then, contact @JustDSM for engine tuning assistance - he's the Tacoma (engine) Whisperer. If you have an AT, @nd4spdbh is the Tacoma (AT) Whisperer.

I suggest taking it to a shop which has a good AC system service unit. That issue is not normal whatsoever and it could be a lot of things honestly, but the best way to do that is to put it on the machine to see what it is doing first.

I took my wrap mod off while tracking down the source of the squeaking at idle. After thinking it over some I have ultimately decided to pull it because I want to lessen the idler rotational mass in the system and if I run one more that is one more which can fail.

I like the blower whine also, the increase in noise at idle I may attempt to subdue some but I also understand it is somewhat of a necessary evil too given the configuration of the system. Hell it could be worse. We could be running cogged pulleys. Lol.

I actually shyed away from Alpine because I read a lot of reviews of how they would die like a year or year and a half later after installation. It seemed to be pretty commonplace so I ultimately decided on the 8000NEX myself. I like it, and it's been a pretty solid unit. No real complaints and it is leaps and bounds better than the OE JBL headunit.

I've had Alpine equipment in nearly every vehicle I've owned and never had a failure. Like many automotive products, installation quality can greatly affect overall performance. If that many Alpine decks are going tits up within a year, someone screwed up the installs or just plain abused them.

Interesting so just running the shorter belt now? I liked the idea of running the normal length but that makes sense.

Got the same set up installed last summer (sans drilled). Only gets better after the break-in period. It’s a must if you have a ton of weight and/or get off road frequently. I’ve already gone through 2 pairs of stock calipers prior to these (mud got in them, Montana “gumbo” is too much for stock calipers). The only thing I was kinda annoyed about is that the “16” rims” version caliper were still barely too tight of a fit for my stock TRDOR wheels (when muddy would scratch caliper). Ended up getting bigger rims. No problems since.
