    Just some additional feedback on the Dr. Tray and the 1up, as I've had or have both. Dr. Tray is light, but not low profile at all. Bikes hang pretty far off the back end, and it looks bulky when folded up. 1up is what I have now. Much lower profile, and obscures the back up camera less when folded up. However it completely obscures the license plate when it's folded up. I definitely prefer the 1up, but I do miss the integrated bike lock that the Dr. Tray had.

    Great list! Have you considered 4-6 bike vertical hangers as a possibility, or only trays?

    Price point and security are really the only shortcomings the 1up has. I know the whole rack has the proprietary Allen key thing. But it just stinks to spend top dollar (for easily the best rack out there) just to have to pay more for cable locks, etc.

    With my 1Up, I’ve never really felt the need for a swing out. Without bikes, tilt up and down is easy and it’s completely out of the way. With bikes, tilt down is a bit trickier, but probably no more time consuming than a swing-out. I did that frequently when I had a shell on my 3rd gen. And even with bikes on and without tilting it, I can open the tailgate enough to release my tonneau, which is how I’m set up now.

    Only trays. I ride solo 99% of the time and currently only roll a 1 bike stable. All the vertical racks out would just be way overkill for my needs. My kids are young, but I’d like to buy something with the ability to expand up to 3-4 bikes.

    Truly though just breaking down and getting a 1up single tray isn’t an impossibility. Just weighing options as going that route would restrict me to 3 bikes total in the long run, and be the most expensive. Flip side (bunus) for the 1upUSA is that they will accommodate down to a 16” wheel.

    Good info there! I run a topper so accessing the bed via dropping to tailgate is a daily affair. I’ll probably just have to feel things out if I get a ton of shin bangers before adding a swing out. I’m not overly concerned with the added leverage as it’ll be a single bike on there the majority of the time.

    Don't forget the Dr. Tray also allows you to adjust tray positions front/back and side/side to eliminate any contact between any bikes. That said, I'll probably be selling mine to get a OneUp in the near future.

    Upgraded pricing too. Which makes sense as you’re getting improvements on an already high quality rack. Bummer is that the equip-d model seems to have a lower load capacity than the others.

    ok... I'm at my wit's end here... Trying to get these tires installed tubeless and I can't, for the life of me, get these valves to seal. Cleaned and taped up with Gorilla tape, seated with no issue and while waiting for the leak down test (with no sealant), they're just going flat. When I check in a dunk tank, all the air is flying out around the valve nut. For install, I've been using the valve itself to poke the hole. After that, just pushing it through until I can get the nut on there and hit it hand tight. Just no dice! I think I'm going to take the stan's video method and file away any excess material (tape) from around the hole. Anything else I should try?

    Edit: no dice there either. Maybe running DD casings will slow down my rate of flat tubes I guess, I'm too frustrated to deal with it now (not to mention, my hands are just sore af (and I just want to ride)).

    ^^ I had this problem a few years ago. Multiple re-tapes, replaced valve stems etc - always leaking around the stem. Short story, the leak had nothing to do with the stem or the hole in the tape for the stem; it was caused by poor tape sealing elsewhere and just migrated through the rim center and comes out around the valve.
    The fix was straightforward though time consuming. Do your best with the tape and remount the tire with a tube. Inflate it to 40-50 psi and wait 24 hours. Pull the tube and remount tubeless. The tube pushes against the tape and helps it seal. Worked for me, the tape has been good for two years, thousands of miles and two more tire changes.

    Seems good, with great new add ons, but definitely not as burly as the heavy duty racks.

    Dman's got it. It's usually not the stem, but air pockets long the tape. Tube method works. If it doesn't, and you're at your wit's end, bring it to a shop, it'll run you $20 and they'll get it right.

    While I respect and appreciate the tips, I'll have to save them for the next go-round, LOL. I got frustrated and impatient and figured "well, hell, lemme see if the sealant can just go ahead and do it's job" and it did (at least for now)! I'm sure the test of time will prove this to be a bad choice, but... I'm goin' riding today as they seem to have held full pressure overnight. Seems I might have a bent wheel though, so... I guess there's that... I swear I'm not that hard on this bike!

    Seriously though, thanks for the tips! I'm definitely keeping them in my back pocket for when I, inevitably, have to re-tape these wheels!

    Wow. Really didn't see them going THAT direction. Although I think there is a decent overlap considering the number of tacomas and 4runners I see at trailheads. It's the law!

    One thing I always do when setting up or refreshing a tubeless tire: after the tire is seated and pumped up to a little over max rated pressure, throw the wheel up and away, with a backspin, so it bounces and returns to my hand. Do this several times and swap the orientation of the wheel, so it spins in both directions. This seems to get the tire fully seated and gets a blast of sealant into every crevice. Be sure to deflate to riding pressure and do a few more bounce/spins to check for leaks. Wash off any leaked sealant with the garden hose, then ride around to spin 'em dry.
