Changed the transmission fluid today. I’m going to change the carrier bearing next week.

Right around the time I put the lift on it developed a wobble that I think is just getting worse. I had new tires and wheels put on and got an alignment about the same time so it’s hard to pinpoint what might be the cause. I can move the driveshaft a good bit in the bearing so I’m hoping that’s it. Probably original part so 170K miles on the rubber bearing.

Rain cooled it off here. Overcast. If it stops raining I’m gonna fire up the smoker.

The new heavy duty axle and wheels go on today. They’re the last piece to the puzzle and the trailer should be operational later today :fingerscrossed:

Random thought of the hour.... how’s Greenville SC? I’m thinking about moving next summer and trying to decide where I want to go. I’ve really enjoyed Bluffton and Hilton Head, but I hate the lack of hills and I’m a complete basket case every hurricane season.

The Greenville area is nice, depending where you're at and what your expectations are. The downtown area is very popular is usually crowded, but there is a lot to do there. West End is having a revitalization of sorts, but as you go west outside the actual city border it can get sketchy. East Greenville is becoming a bit more like a more kinda upper end type of area. Lots of traffic around there. There is a ton of shopping around Woodruff Rd, but prepare for gridlock depending on time of day. South Greenville is, well, Mauldin. North Greenville is my favorite part of the area. I kinda grew up in Tigerville and Travelers Rest, and have family in TR and Marietta. If I had the opportunity to get out of Greenwood, I would look at TR for living.

I dunno if posting this link is kosher, but city-data has a ton of info on the area.

the truck is designed to give itself for the safety of its crew, so there are crumple and crush zones, the cab is racked, the ladder is probably twisted.
that truck weighs every bit of 70k +
upwards of $750k+ depending on equipment....

looking at the pic closer, i’d bet the driver wasn’t paying attention to his speed and position, chucked one of the parking blocks and it tossed the truck and he over corrected causing it to go over.

a few weeks ago i got to have this move some machines for us, 76,000lbs as it sits, also over $750k

totally different, but similar at the same time. it is a rotating boom, but does not slide.

Just sitting there it just kinda flexes and bobs, 600hp of awesome.
