L m f a o. Why can one swing their right leg in after setting their ass on the edge of the drivers seat? No yanking on anything!

My thoughts exactly. These clowns add zero value to this forum.

Sorry, this makes no sense...I'm just over 6' and like many others, I've got a 3" lift...you'd have to be about 6'6'' with freakishly long legs to "set your ass on the edge of the seat"...unless this is just you letting us all know how tall you are...in which case, congrats, you're tall.

Maybe you're referring to what I've had to get used to doing. Using the lumbar support and driver door pull handle to help hop up onto the edge of the seat, while at the same time trying not to slam my head on the roof, then swinging my legs in. This method is not only incredibly awkward but one of these days I'm going to rip the rear pocket buttons off my slacks - most days wear a suit for work.

Wouldn't it me nice if we had some alternative to this...like a nice factory style driver's side grab bar...someone should start a thread on it.

I always use the steering wheel to crawl in, even though that did cause mayhem on my old 91 chevy - broke the tilt steering mechanism, causing it to be completely loose! Made for a sketchy drive home, as i had to hold it up just right for the ignition to stay on! Steering while also holding the wheel up is.... interesting.

I just wish they had that grabhandle for long hauls, it’d be nice to place my arm up there.

Tug laterally on your steering wheel and tell me if it moves. I guarantee it doesn’t...at...all.

Even the MG Extender has grab handles on both the driver and passenger side.

I read somewhere that crash testing indicated better scores in vehicles without driver handles.

    It makes sense really.

They did nots say why the passenger's survivability was not affected, or why Toyota thought it mattered less.

By all means tug away on your steering wheel, whatever floats your boat...we are looking for a different solution.

Never understood the point of responding to someone's request for help finding a solution with a message about how they should feel differently.

"Yes sir may I have a cup of coffee"...."Why do you want coffee?",......... " l don't like coffee so you shouldn't either."

Some people need to make everything about themselves, even when it's not.

    That's OK.

That one screw won't hold more than that handle's weight. If any pressure is put on it, it'll break off.

On second thought. I think that design might actually work.
But the image you shared (re-attached below), that A-pillar doesn't appear to be from a tacoma.
Which truck is that image from? Is the handle after -market? Or did it come with that truck?
Looks like you'd have to figure it out where it came from and buy it and experiment on ours and see if it can be a solution for our trucks.

To me, that looks like you would be putting a good be of stress on the attachment point because the handle is acting as a lever. The Racetech door pull would not put as much stress on it, and move away in an airbag deployment.

Both are Stock - built correct from the start.

Yep. Maybe it's because I'm old and grownup but that's the one I've used in all my trucks since like 1977. I just sold my 1978 F150 Lariat weekend cruiser and I think it had the same setup.

Over 4 years now, I can't believe no one has produced something similar to the Tundra fix for our trucks.
