I have just purchased a 13 Standard cab with a bench seat. Does anyone know if a set of bucket seats from a 2nd gen will bolt in? Have not found a set yet but will start my search if it is possible. Thanks!

Have you looked underneath? Find one existing seat bolt, say the drivers side front bolt door side. When you find it underneath, look toward the transmission hump for another nut that's empty. If you find one, you'll probably find 3 more.

I'm not sure I've seen posts where people swapped the bench for buckets. I'd think both styles of seats bolt up the same way.

I'd like to upgrade my bucket seats to the TRD seats.

I would recommend swapping to 4 runner seats, the 2004 gen I know Fits, I have those in my truck. The wiring can be swapped from the bench to the buckets with little effort, the airbag squibs are just plug and play, and the sensors are easy, just a little bit have to be tucked under the carpet due the the bench being one unit.

4 runner seats also have lumbar and adjust vertically:bananadance: I got mine at a junkyard in good shape for 25$ each, it is a straight bolt in if you lift the covered holes, do be aware however that some models have passenger side clearance issues with the center console, however to me it's not. Deal breaker

I’ve looked at getting buckets for my 2007 reg cab, and I’d tried to get the seats out of a 4th Gen 4Runner, but I don’t know what to do with the newly created empty middle area? I kinda hate to proceed any further until I knew what to do.

Center consoles from other Tacoma's can transfer, but I just use it for storage. I like the empty space, but it's definitely not for everyone

I'd probably look at the tuffy console for a jeep and see if I could make that fit.

I like that Tuffy center console, also just realized that my travel/work bag would probably fit pretty well in the empty middle space. If I got bucket seats that had arm rests I’d probably just leave the space open.

I placed washers under the front bolts of the bench seat to make it more comfortable.
Placed a "Bench seat center console" in the middle for an armrest.

Sorry about the delay in answering.

Yes, I’ve got the WetOkoles and they’re fantastic. The neoprene is thick and soft to the touch, and, there’s an additional 1/2” of foam padding in all of the load bearing areas. Like, where a butt goes. Haha.

Ordering was really easy, every option for my model year, seat configuration, color, all the way up to the headrests — all of it was an option in their website. I didn’t have to write any “special instructions”. I got the seat covers from Hawaii about 5-6 weeks after order, took me about 60 minutes to install — and I neither had to remove the seat back nor the seat base. I did remove the headrests so I could flip them upside down and press them into their covers, using my tailgate, haha. And total cost was $300.00

Edited to include: yes, I ordered direct from WetOkoles website.

I swapped out the bench seat in my '13. Any 2nd gen taco seats will fit and bolt on up. I used ones from a '14 trd OR with airbags in hope that I could get them to work. No dice. Dealership where I'm at can't make them work either. So if you do swap them for tacoma seats, I'd get ones without airbags as they can be found for much cheaper.

The 2012 regular cab with auto trans was the last one that came stock with bucket seats. If you get your hands on a pair of those seats, they will plug and play without any problems.

One more thing, while the bolts do align perfectly, there was no bolt hole for the inside rear passenger bolt (the one closest to where the center console would sit) in my truck. So that seat only has three bolts in it on my truck.

Anyone wanna buy my bench seat???? Been trying to unload that thing for the past 8 months.

Did you unbolt the back of the seat to get the front holes to line up with the washers in there. I tried but can’t get the hole to line up and I’m afraid I will strip the bolt

I did have to loosen those rear bolts.
I had a friend help me out and he absolutely did strip the dang screw out trying to reinstall it.
Fortunately ACE Hardware has those screws in stock.
I got too frustrated to even deal with it.
