Did or can you do a post on what needed to be done to swap the bumper over. What major issues you had

I thought about doing that at one time but then i would have to redo my projector headlights and i was in the process of fiberglassing up a custom grill. does look sweet though!

    Damn that looks good.
I think I like that better than doing a full conversion.
I've never really liked the look of retros with the stock 05-11 bumper but those smoked ones with the 14 bumper have a synergy.

I put some in and then took them out. Can't decide what I like better. Maybe a prerunner bumper would fix the fog light issue.?

Dobinson’s coils and shocks. SOS sliders, ditch light brackets, and front skid. Rigid ditch lights. BFG KO(dos) More minor stuff.
Got correct front suspension installed. Set for tires and alignment in the am along with ordering something to get the back up to get rid of bro lean.

One Wisconsin winter and it’s now an epic endless battle with corrosion and rust. One more winter. One more winter... :frusty:

Finally finished my @At The Helm front bumper repainting! No more is the oxidized and rusted powder coating. And finally finished my fender flare-less look! So fucking glad to be done with those two projects.

Are steel bumpers really paintable? How hard is it?
I imagined they might only be powder-coatable to get inside all the nooks and crannys, if powder-coat sticks to the metal when it's electrically charged. To prevent future rust

To start with... powder coating isn’t all that and a bag of chips... my powder coated bumper oxidized and rusted to hell after a single Wisconsin winter.

And after having my bumper sandblasted, I made a huge effort to get into every nook and cranny with multiple primer, truck bed liner, and final matte black paint coats.

So here’s hoping this shit lasts longer than the powder coating :fingerscrossed:

Definitely agree with this. If the prep isn't done right, powder coating doesn't hold up any better than paint. Not to mention you can't touch it up with more powder coat. I always wondered why so many companies powder coated skid plates and other parts that you knew were gonna get bashed up.
