    Maybe 2000.

Just went and checked. Lines looked okay other than a cracked line on the return up near the TB, but no oil spewing out of there. Didn’t see any kinks either.

If you have a cracked line there then it cant pull the vacuum it needs.

Fix the cracked hose then report back. I'm surprised you aren't getting emissions cels.

I'm not wanting to start one of those long debated topics, but while I do agree with most of that, I disagree with the catch can filtering the vapors out. Unless specifically designed to filter out the vapors and mist a catch can will usually only keep out oil. So technically speaking you will still be ingesting the mist or vapors back in through the intake but will catch the oil.

Ahh okay, then as stated you have an obstruction somewhere assuming the build was done well.

The fuel trims can see as much 18% lean to rich activity before it throws lean or rich codes surprisingly. Our PCM is admittedly fairly sloppy when it comes to throwing those codes. Sort of like 2000 era Fords and their misfire code population on the stored codes list.

I thought most of our cans had a steel wool of sorts that acts as an “oil mist eliminator”. The oil that’s being carried away by the air collects on the surface of the wool in the larger area of the cab (slowing down air velocities) and drops out. It’s not perfect, but it is effective. Do you have this type of media in yours?

I actually don't run one. I have an OE style air/oil separator produced by Jaguar inline with the PCV to the blower intake. How effective it has been is anyone's guess. I have to do my cams soon so I'll be able to report back on that when it is time.

Most of the catch cans I have seen do not have that steel wool you are referring to. Of course that was yesteryear when I followed those mods. New updates to the designs may have rolled out so I could be entirely wrong about modern day CCs.

    Oh here we go!
You should NEVER have liquid oil going through there. Only the mist/gasses that make it into the valve covers gets sent through the pcv and/or the catch can.
This IS the catch cans job in life, to condense the mist into larger droplets where they rest happily in the bottom of the catch can until being emptied.
It doesnt matter if its fuel or oil must it will filter it!
Vapor probably not so maybe it was my choice in wording.

Either way a little oil mist won’t be too bad. I actually haven’t reinstalled mine since I installed the new engine. I did a 7th injector so I wanted to see how effective it is at unfouling the intake track and intercooler. I have a Davtron intercooler gauge to install, so I plan on cracking it open some “soon”

I actually am not opposed to mist running through, oil on the other hand is no bueno... Of course if a PCV works well there shouldn't be a bunch of oil running through, and with saying that I end my portion of the "catch can debate." :)

I bought a cheap catch can then added one tube (inlet) that drops about halfway down the catch can and I added a course stainless scrubber to filter exactly as @DocME described.

I’m out and about but fuck it. This is why I carry a knife. Thou shall be done.

I had an evap leak code awhile ago but that was because of a hose I forgot to reconnect.

Mine has an 80 micron filter or something or other.

I remember back in the early forum days of the mid 2000s the popular mod was to buy one of those Home Depot air compressor filters and rig it to work with the car or truck. We have definitely come a long way since that.

Just looked again. The crack doesn’t go all the way through the hose. Just pushed the hose further up the barb until the crack was no longer relevant.

Well if you didnt have the problem before and you only changed one variable (catch can) then you know where the problem is....now to figure it out.

Page 1 update to the belt section now includes the RPM series part numbers. :)

PS: 2.5-2.6 can currently not play due to the build nature of these belts. If you do decide to play with these sizes be aware you may snap the belt. Belt sizing is THAT critical!

This is just a preliminary edit for the time. There are ways around the lack of 2.5-2.7 belt options which I will write of between later today or tomorrow.

    Edit: Fully updated. Happy modding!

What do you recommend for 2.5 pulley belts? I’ll have to use stock with possible wrap or a new belt.
