    Just 3 tons of fun!!!

Don't use this anywhere were it freezes. Or if you do, make sure you drain and fill with antifreeze before it freezes.

That stuff WILL freeze and split your radiator. I promise you.

Ask me how I know :anonymous:

And I live in California... It freezes much harder where you are than where I am.

Its been used with anti-freeze. I think it does nothing with anti-freeze. Looks like its for racers that just run plain water. Waste of money with anti-freeze.

I suspect the LBJs were changed at some point in the past. The boots are still intact. Though I can't tell when they were changed. The upper and lower control arms look to be fairly recent. I don't want to take any changes with unknown LBJs. The upper ball joints have been on for a while.

Wasn't bad at all. Broke two clips on the door panel but was able to salvage one of them. Really an easy process. For anyone interested, below is the process for 2002-2004. Other 1st Gen years may vary...

    1212.jpg

I skipped step 2 and just twisted the door handle and pushed it back through the panel as I removed it.

    NOTE:
you do not need to remove the tweeter.

    131313.jpg

As for the door check, to remove -

grab here and slide the cover off towards you

    upload_2019-8-11_11-38-31.jpg

    upload_2019-8-11_11-41-50.jpg

Remove the door cover - this kind of snaps closed on one side, be careful as this is how you'll remove it from the checker.

    upload_2019-8-11_11-40-25.jpg

    upload_2019-8-11_11-40-52.jpg

    upload_2019-8-11_11-42-42.jpg

Remove the three marked in yellow above (10mm). Slide the checker back through the door and remove from the hole where the speaker is. Once the door checker is loose, BE CAREFUL as to not allow the door to open forward - nothing holding it with the checker removed.

Install the new checker by sliding it back through the opening in the door, secure the two nuts and bolt it to the frame (blue thread locker on the frame bolt). Reinstall the covers, door panel. Done.

If above is confusing in any way or still have q's on the removal process, reference these two vids:

Not going to remove arm rest - remove panel only

Door check removal only (ignore the silicone grease part) -

You are correct. You use it with just plain water. That's why you don't want to use it where it freezes, when it freezes.

I ran it in my F150 Lightning... but forgot to drain it and fill with antifreeze one winter... and I had to replace the radiator after we got a good freeze.

A lot of you guys 'liked' my kitchen sink post; what's in the back of my mind is, where do I stow it away when I'm out on the road heading out to my next spot?

I'm thinking I can leave it behind the front seats (access cab)? I have limited space and I'd like to keep that space for stowing garbage bags for food waste, etc. in bear country, as well as my ice chest.

I have a bed rack, so the contents of the truck bed are always exposed to the elements. I recently bought a plastic bin to put items like sleeping bags/etc. inside of but that space is all occupied.

Whatever you do, test different spots and their ease of access. Im on a trip right now, and putting all my clothes/bedding at the front of the bed (camper shell) has been a big pain. Shouldve put dishes up there.

If I'm in non-bear territory, my method is -

Against the bed of the truck, towards the cab, is my power tank (offset to the drive side), big ice chest in the center, and fuel jug (offset to the passenger side).

Ice chest is held by a ratchet strap against the bed.

After those items, a large plastic bin with bedding, and inside is a smaller container with a few dishes, paper plates, napkins, aluminum foil, etc.

Next to that is another but smaller ice chest meant for foods. Next to that are my 2-3 foldable chairs, and canopy.

I can access the ice chest like I had to a few weeks ago while being stuck on Highway 1; bed rack provides enough clearance to open the ice chest and it's easy to reach from either side of the bed.

I'm just not sure if the sink should remain outside on the fold out table while at camp or not since it has a built in battery. For ease of access, I may just leave it inside the truck.

I installed a new Denso fuel pump and all new rubber gaskets on the top of my fuel tank. Got rid of the emissions code P0456 and P0440. Fuel pump just because I was in there. I'll post my old one for free if I think someone would want it. It worked fine could go 100K more miles, who knows.
