Just ordered the hand impact tool and a new T40 with it. Needed one anyway

UPDATE: got the impact tool and tried it the other day. I double checked to make sure I was not tightening it. I’ve hit that thing hard enough to damn near move the truck. Won’t budge for nothing.. not sure what I’ll do at this point

They work great, my first use was back in 1975. Got a Honda motorcycle, and all the long bolts were aluminum at first. They would break right off if you didn't use an impact to break them loose.

Dang brother, that sucks! I could tell right off the bat that mine were not going to come out without a fight, so I took the tailgate off and went right for the impact. They came out without an issue. At this point you may have to do some drilling if you've already stripped those screws, but either a conventional impact wrench or an impact driver may have saved you some headaches.

Something like this would work well, so long as those screws are not stripped.

EDIT: Just saw your follow up post.. Good call. You'll thank yourself next time you have a brake job too, haha.

Got mine installed, hit them with a little prep and paint, fantastic product exactly what I was looking for. Way better than zip ties, hose clamps, etc.

It's all In the prep work, most paints will work if done properly but the most effective way would be to powder coat.

No problem, I highly recommend taking the tailgate off to get that screw out, some others have had issues trying to get it with the tailgate on

Quick shipment and looks great! Takes alittle patience to get it to loop around, but take your time and it fits perfectly. Thanks again for the great product!

Took me a few seconds to figure that out as well, but like you said, get it right and it goes right together.

Arguably the best bang for the buck mod you can do. Finally got it painted and installed. Thanks Christian.
