Cool thanks. Figured it was normal (I knew the truck would shut off but wasn't aware of the lights flashing) but wanted to make sure I didn't mess something up programming the unit.

And I'll be ordering the cell phone remote control before winter hits... You were right.

Anyone have a issue after successfully having the remote start module work successfully , then when installing the cell unit part, having the remote start module sit with just a red light and will not do anything ?

YES! There's a countdown timer. As long as you left the air on for your furry friends after the last drive, load them in, shut the door, remote start it and they'll be fine. The doors remain locked when remote started. However, you cannot lock the doors IF you manually start the vehicle. With that said, after 15 minutes the vehicle WILL shut down, so be mindful of that. It could be fatal for them if you forget to restart it. I can take special requests for scenarios like this to extend the run-time to 30, 45 or 60 minutes (not good for your engine, but a life saver for your pets should you forget that the time has elapsed). You could always set a timer on your phone as a reminder if you think you'll be more than 15 minutes till you get to them. Most use it to cool the car down prior to entry for pets and humans, however, I could see one running an errand and not wanting to take the dogs in but be careful, there are laws in some states (regardless of a running vehicle with AC) that legally allows bystanders to bash your windows if they "think" the dogs are at risk...so tell your dogs to keep their panting to a minimum and tongues in their mouths.

This timer DOES NOT give you a pop up notification when time is up...

I'm considering this unit for my 19, but just thought of a question that I have used in my past remote starts. With the phone app can you keep the car running without pushing the start stop button in the truck. ie, if your are running into a store in the winter and you don't want to turn it off. And also if you can do that can you also lock the doors from the outside of truck when it is running and you opened the door from inside.

The app can lock and unlock the vehicle regardless if it was remote started or not, the fob will not work, neither will smart touch of your handles if push to start. So you can leave the car running, get out and the only way to lock it (if the vehicle was manually started before your trip to the store) is via app, yes. On a normal basis, the vehicle would never let you lock and unlock while it is running via fob or door lock switches on the door panel. HOWEVER, say you did stop the vehicle, get out, then remote start it (app or fob) and run inside, then if you remote started it via fob or app, the fob NOW will allow you to lock and unlock it while the engine is running and smart touch is active if you touch your handles. But now you're on the remote start clock of 15 minutes while you run inside. You could then start it again via app while inside the store once 15 minutes has elapsed. So if you didn't want to turn it off when pulling up into the store parking lot, the app IS the only way to lock it and unlock it while the engine is running.

"And also if you can do that can you also lock the doors from the outside of truck when it is running and you opened the door from inside"

The portion is red, yes, explained above. The portion in blue, I don't quite get what you mean when you say "opened the door from the inside"...how? why? purpose? Are you sitting in the truck still, or are your windows down and you're reaching from outside in? If so, I am very confused on why this is a scenario...maybe I am misunderstanding you. Please clarify.

Finally dropped the bomb on getting this. Better to install now when it's 80+ now, than when it's 10- later here in WI.

    ANNOUNCEMENT #1

Some folks are reporting getting this erroneous/false notification on their smart phone module (very few folks):

    upload_2019-8-5_6-51-20.jpg

If you're one of them, you have two options to stop it:

    A) Go to your PHONE'S APP NOTIFICATION SETTINGS (not within the app itself) and disable all notifications FOR the app. You don't need to worry about missing out on any notifications from this app as it has none.

    B) PM me the last 6 digits of your device's serial (found on the device, sticker that came with it that you may have placed somewhere on your vehicle like door jamb, or easiest way to go into the app, open up the settings and either type it out to me in a PM or screenshot it. If you have my personal cell, feel free to text it if you prefer.

I am researching a remote start for my 2018 Tacoma with H2 keys. What kind of range will it have? Does it have a aftermarket antenna? Thanks.

    Hi Blaine!

It utilizes your same OEM FOB, does not add any extra range than you already have, no antennas. There are option add-on such as the long range 2-WAY RF kit or Smart Phone App Control Module that then plug into it and the RF kit gives you a half mile range, but draw back is extra fobs, no one wants bulkier pockets than we already have or extra items to lose, hence why most opt to go with the smart module as the price difference isn't that much more and your range is now unlimited, world wide as long as your phone has wifi or signal reception, and your vehicle is in a location that has 3G/4G/LTE signal. You can be in China and vehicle in the United States and you can lock/unlock, start/stop engine and GPS locate at anytime. Plus we all always have our phones on us more than we do fobs which is a plus.

And you can always take this hardware off and put it on your next vehicle. You just need to purchase the new harness for the new vehicle (provided a plug n play is available), and a re-flash of the remote starter's firmware for the new vehicle (get the harness from us and we'll re-flash for free and even cover return shipping for free back to you when we send the harness out), but the harnesses are market available; Our competitors don't sell just harnesses because they want you to have to buy a whole new setup meaning you'll have to spend hundreds all over again. We couldn't sleep at night if we did the same. We actually care about saving you hard earned money so you can spend it on your next mod! Even better, the smart module tags along, it doesn't even know it's moved as it stay connected to the remote starter module, not your vehicle and not vehicle specific. The firmware and harness for the remote starter are the only vehicle specific items. Saves you money down the road since you get to recycle instead of start over again. Pretty cool huh?

Let me know if you have any other questions, ALWAYS happy to answer them regardless if you buy or not, or buy from us or not. We take care of TW WITHOUT bias if it's something we can help clear, or answer...we will. Plus, all of us (competitors included) source the SAME factory hardware, it comes down to price, service and support when you start wanting to compare. You can click the links in my signature if you want some affirmation or confidence as we stand by our product and bar setting support. We do things no company does, or will ever do. We're not a typical company, I can go on about how we differ but folks here get it and so you can read through that and see for yourself.

My truck is not a manual. Will I have to cut the tpms or not? I watched a you tube video and at first it says you have to with an auto then it says you don't and only for manual trans.

Hi I drive a 2019 Tacoma Off Road automatic with premium and tech package (it's push button start). Would this work for my truck? And would I get the one that works within 1/2 a mile? I also wanted to see what the key fob looks like (hopefully it fully replaces the fob I have now vs having 2 fobs). Thanks

Yes, you do. All HKEY have to, regardless if auto or manual. What you saw that you DON'T need to do (and isn't even included in the HKEY auto kit) is the yellow clutch cancel wire tap. That's the extra step MT owners will need to do. Watch the video again and see if it makes sense now that I've cleared it up.

The push to start kit is the one you would need, click here. Adding the long range fobs DOES not replace the OEM. You still need the OEM to drive off. The photo is on our website or click here.

Most opt with the smart phone module, (click here) for this reason since you get the added world wide range, and GPS locate without the extra fobs. The device cost difference is very little. With the RF kit, you'd still be carrying your OEM fob AND this one. Most don't want bulkier pockets considering their phone is already in their pocket too.

Saw this on tacoma beast earlier. I have a 16 Taco. Would the price be the same $199? I would just use my key fob to start the truck and not need to cut anything correct?

Yup, the same. They are one of our authorized online retailers. Does not matter. The process is quicker directly with us as they are a drop-shipper for us so they place the order after you've placed it with them, they're pretty quick to turn it around so you're good either-way. I'm not sure what their shipping is, but TW members can use the code N2TWFREESHIP with us all things being the same. Either-way, you're getting the same product and support from us.

Sorry forgot to answer the other part of your question, for push to start, 100% plug n play. You cut nothing. You can check out the guides and videos on our website.

    Jimmy,

When you buying that CL6 company? Their customer service is straight up garbage... just got done arguing over email with this dude for two weeks because of their shit application... I'll help you run the CS side of things, lets go.
