Anyone have any maps of legal trails in NJ? Preferably southern NJ. I know of few spots in ocean county, but most of them have signs posted up. I'd like to go out for once without having to always look over my shoulder in fear of getting ticketed and/or impounded lol

Legal trails and NJ don’t go in the same sentence. There are a handful of legal dirt roads if that’s what your looking for. Basically aside from paying money to drive in circles at an off-road park you’re looking at a 5-6 hour drive to get to anything good

That's what I was afraid of. Gotta love our nanny state. If I owned land or ran one of the numerous active sites near the shore, I'd turn portions of into on off road park and charge admission. Not a bad business model if you can get figure out the liability/insurance aspects.

Since I'm fairly new to the off road scene in it's entirety, any recommendations for spots where you're less likely to get pinched that are stock truck friendly? I'm a novice. Once labor day passes, I plan on getting a beach permit or two. Definitely for Holgate on LBI and possibly IBSP

go here and run some green trails for the day, it might fulfill your off road desires or it might send you into a money spending frenzy chasing rocks to crawl over

That’s the problem in NJ is the insurance. Doesn’t matter what your trying to do. Also new jersey is nazis about free camping too.

That bizz would never fly here “at the shore”. There is far more revenue in tourist that would ever come from a year round offroad Park. Even with all the light bars you see in town or mud terrains on 20s.

Thank you! I'll take a look and see what I can find. And trust me, the money frenzy has already begun since day 1 with the truck lol. I'm saving for an OME BP-51 setup currently :anonymous:

Yuppp... that's why I head out of state so much just to camp. Spent this past weekend up in the catskills. Usually either head up north to NY or south to the Virginias. Need to look for some trails out of state, but wouldn't mind a local spot (even if it's super simple) that I can just drive to and spend an afternoon at without taking a 4-6 hour drive.

No doubt, and it's also annoying when I get hammered by beach badge checkers when I pay property taxes for the damn state! o_O:censored:

IDK, I feel like you could easily pocket some coin from a seasonal "off-road" road business marketed towards all the BROs from D'JAIS with their lifted wranglers with 20" wheels with sidewall-less tires. Just give em a sandbox to drive around in with a little hill so their rigs don't get dirty

Nice! I was there for first light friday morning to surf. Got out for a few hours before heading back for work. Easily one of my favorite places in the state.

Wtf am I looking at!? That takes some "imagination"!! Lol.

Any idea that is the frenzy with that 'armor' around the windshield? I've seen it around here a few times, and besides limiting view I just can't figure it out :notsure:
