I still recommend that you use 91 if possible. But more than that, I'd recommend using the new version designed for trucks that are not stock and have 4.88s, and carry extra weight. The newest version of our 2.0 beta.

I would love to give it a try and provide feedback. Should I submit a zendesk ticket?

Order# 4820, My ECU ID is 04A61. 2018 A/T DCSB. I also have 4.88 gears and have the same shortcomings with the 91/93 performance tune dead pedal in the mid range. The 87 stock base tune is smooth enough for the most part, but I am looking forward to a performance tune that blends well with the 4.88 gears. I tried both the 91 & 93 performance tune, but the initial surge that would occur with even the slightest push of the pedal in forward/reverse was a little unnerving. I couldn't back up to hitch my camper without fear of the surge causing my truck to smack into the receiver. Do you project releasing 2.0 for ECU ID 04A61 any time soon?

That is great to hear. I know your busy with all your endeavors, so I appreciate the prompt response. One question however, do you expect a significant decrease in throttle sensitivity/surging on initial depression?

    Updated my Review

Installed 2.0 Beta 93 oct. tune and have ~200 miles on the tune 70% highway 30% city. Recently installed KM3 285/75/16 and took a hit on mpg (~1 mpg) from my KO2's. The truck previously would lug in 5th or 6th on 1.05 93 oct. tune then gun to 4th to get moving then drop down to 5th. It was getting to the point I had to feather the throttle to stay in 4th to keep it from dancing 4th and 5th entering ramps ~ 70 mph. Week ago drove 180 miles from Austin to Houston and had to drive in 5th gear to stay at 75 mph with an empty truck and was getting around 15 mpg and was stressful working the truck. The 2.0 Beta right out the gate just shifts like a normal vehicle and surprisingly makes my heavy truck feel nimble. The rides quieter since I can hear my MT tires where before it was just the engine lugging or screaming above 3k RPM. Engine RPM drives smoother in the low 1k but when accelerating the tune achieves a smoother pedal input using TC slipping. I do notice I have a coasting feeling when driving vs "Don't let off or we are braking". MPG instant read out shows to be more efficient but i'll report back once I've ran a few tanks.

You have to be on 04B04 to try the beta 2.0.
So you are stuck with 1.05, unless you update your ECU.
    2.0 isn't a final release yet.

Having to borrow a laptop, so to update ECU, take it to the dealer ? Not really convenient either way....lol! I’ve read about techstream, but same issue( laptop ) I’m sure Matt will make 2.0 available to all ECU id’s ?

Yes, it will eventually be available to all ECU's. But...403 is usually the last one if past releases are any indication. Probably a lower amount of those. But 1.05 is pretty good, way better than stock!

ORDER 2832 of 6/2018 - My problem with the Perf tune 93 octane for A/Ts (v1.05) is nearly identical as described in the post of "Kclamer". My truck is a 0403, 2017 TRD Sport 4x4 3.5L - and remains stock so far as engine and gears. Wheels were bumped one size to 70's, but all else is OEM.

The shifting problems admittedly don't rival those of the OEM so far as being completely senseless, but they they can be aggravating at times - and one particular trait I have encountered seems dangerous to the drive train. Since July 1, 2019 I have sent 3 emails to zendesk (#8171 was the ticket) requesting help - and describing a "gear-slam" experience (the "dangerous" behavior I described above) without receiving any reply, as yet.

This behavior has occurred multiple times during peak acceleration at higher revs, by slamming very hard into gear (as if being in neutral under high RPMs, then thrust into gear). This happened twice now, when the tranny was (automatically) shifting into 4th gear. It worries me that it could do serious damage. So now I am afraid to drive the truck at WOT. The more tolerable issues of delayed downshifts and gear-hunts can be a PITA, if you want perfection - but at least they don't seem to threaten mechanical harm. The fact that I am no longer getting responses to requests for help are just as concerning, since I previously felt that any/all issues could be resolved by Mat and his team through zendesk.

I had a URD tune kit for my previous 3.4L truck, that I tuned AFR, timing, etc. via Split-Second hardware/software using a laptop - so I get the premise at least, of what is going on. But it seems that the tranny controller is the problem child here, not the engine. Obviously the VVT etc. (and most other systems now employed) are far advanced from the old 3.4L engine design, so I am not "comparing" anything. I am only stating I somewhat comprehend the extent of the task at hand, to some degree.

My last email was sent on July 21, which I repeated my findings and also reported failed attempts to re-flash the program for a sanity check. I was getting a file error message from using either my saved or a newly downloaded file that I tried to use. SO I am just driving the truck as it is, without pressing its performance.

If this new beta is the answer, I am anxious for its release. But in the interim, I would like a warm and fuzzy concerning the communication gap and any help I can get regarding my sudden inability to flash. Response goes a long way toward maintaining confidence, with me.

I looked at your ticket. You are using an outdated version of 1.05, one from back in December from the looks of it, which has already been updated through flash manager.

Regarding not responding, we are trying to get to all tickets as we can.

All of the information, updated version of 1.05 is directly accessible by flash manager, with info on it on our website page called "flash manager."

It's not always possible to update every single person individually, as we have thousands of customers, so we update everything through flash manager. I'm not sure how you were still on that version from back in December and never updated it.

Other issues you had like "file corrupt" is simply your flash manager is out of date. Which we have a walk through video showing exactly how to use, update, etc.

For future reference all of our information will be on our FLASH MANAGER page on our website. Because we will not always be able to respond to everyone about updating, or what is the current tune version or options, etc.

Razor24........Sorry to be so ignorant -

But are you saying that you replaced the original 04B03 ECU or that a firmware upgrade was done, to provide you with this upgrade?

What was the reason you upgraded....and was there a cost - (or was this upgrade warranty covered)?

I can't keep up with all of the related threads - and there are rabbit trails all over. Forgive me for asking a stupid question.

Im giving it a 4 because the best mod would be regearing. Otherwise, its pretty good. It wasnt an absolute fix to the whole shifting problem, but it does shift smoother. Before my truck would yank, now it kinda just shifts it a much less annoying way. Would recommend it if you wont be putting a bunch of stuff on your truck.
