Looking into changing out my front shocks on my 95 4x4. Want them assembled, but all I see is Fox Shox 985-02-003 for around $800 (pair shipped). Don't care about Monroe/Moog etc...

Any other ideas? Went them as a complete strut (bolt on)

Standard height for on-road use only?

    Off-road use?

    Budget?

You've got Bilstein 4600, 5100, OME Nitrochargers to list a few on the cheaper side.

You've got coil overs from Fox, ADS, Icon which are even more.

Then you've got the larger, extended travel versions by Fox, ADS, Icon, and King.

    Call Marie @HeadStrong Off-Road

A complete assembly is certainly easier, especially if you actually need springs.

They are actually coil-over-shock assemblies in a double wishbone setup, not struts.

You could go with the 4600 with new coils, and either rent a tool or pay for labor to install the new coils onto the shocks.

I'd also check the lower ball joints since you'll be tearing into the suspension.

4600s are the go-to shock for stock height. If you are considering lifting it at some point, might consider the 5100s as they are essentially the same as the 4600s, but are height adjustable (can move the spring perch up/down for increased lift).

    That's for the front...

I would highly suggest getting rear shocks too. They see essentially the same wear and tear as the fronts, so it's better to just replace them all at once. For the rear, at least with the 4600/5100s, if you are stock height, you need the 4600s. You have to have at least 1" lift to properly fit the 5100s.

I'm back thinking about getting the Fox's for $770 shipped (pair). I have new Bil 4600's in the rear

Would the Fox's be a nice fit and work well?

Bang for the buck, I'd go with Bilstein 5100's or OME coil overs; these provide great value compared to Fox 2.0's (assuming based on the price you listed).

I had the same thought process and went directly to Fox 2.5 coil overs.

Thanks, which coils would I need for stock height. I have the 4600's on the rear. If I get these, just bolt on?
