haha yeah. But kids these days will never know the pain of being 13 years old and having to deal with dial up internet porn....5 - 10 minutes to load an image that you aren't even sure you're going to like or not. Then one day your dad finds the internet history and calls you into the computer room to have a little talk...those were days.

Oh my god I feel your pain. At one point one of my roommates had used all of the pots/pans/dishes/utencils and they were covering the kitchen counter. After asking him several times over the course of a couple days it ended with me putting all of them on his bed before he cleaned them.

I'm pretty picky on who I'll live with now.

I miss, and don't miss, dial up (miss the sound effects that is).

Don't forget all the petty arguments over the top "8" on myspace, or worse yet, favorite "5" if you had T Mobile for unlimited minutes to your top 5 phone numbers to call.

Oh man I've only heard about that talk. I was always good about the search history. My dad found out because my parents were secretly forwarding all of my emails to their accounts so they could read them and also reading my FB messages. I was grounded for the last 2 years of HS also told I was a disgusting shameful being for being attracted to anyone outside of marriage in our fundamentalist christian household.

I wonder why I have trust issues that I've needed to work on my whole life? :bananadead:

yeah I would be too nowadays, back then my main concern was low rent which of course means you can't be all that picky with who you end up living with lol. But yeah I would be much more selective now too esp having had those experiences. Not looking forward to going "home" every day is a bad feeling

Yeah seriously, if it doesn't feel like home it really wears you down. I know what you mean too, in college we were all paying $400/ea for a room in a 5 bed house which was killer for the Denver area but the cost was made up for by the shitty roommate situation.

Another layer to that drama was that they decided to get a cat even though I was allergic and told me it was a 3 against 1 decision. Then they ended up saying a shitty "sorry I hope his love and companionship makes up for your allergy issues though!". Sock cuckers

haha yeah, myspace was a weird transition between our generation and the social media generation. That guy Tom was smart to get out when he did, I heard it sold it to Fox or something for millions right when Facebook was picking up steam and has been retired ever since. He's actually a pretty good photographer now, travels all over...hell I would too if that were me. the bastard

oh man that blows lol, that's a dick move. I like cats but I have some friends that are allergic and its no joke. One of them I have to buy a box of Claritin D for if he ever comes over, he ends up looking like me during peak allergy season the minute he steps into our house otherwise.

    No shit. That and youtube.

Kids nowadays won't understand the struggle!

I still have childhood "trauma" from when my Sony Walkman would start to die and the tape would crawl to a stop; AM/FM is the only thing that'd work until you got new batteries.

Then we got Discman! And people on the bus would randomly "tap" the top of your disc player and make your shit skip until G-Protection came out.

Yeah I barely remember using tapes really...I mean we had them as little kids but I didn't really get into music until I was around 14 or so and I think CDs were pretty big by then. I do remember having a Van Halen cassette tape though, might've been my dad's. The Wallflowers 'Bringing Down the Horse' was my first CD I remember buying myself, fucking loved that band.

yeah eff the whole Youtube thing...don't get me wrong I'm thankful for it when I'm working on my truck but I'm so freakin' glad I made it out of my early 20s before cell phones had video capabilities and Youtube became big. All the stupid shit I could've been filmed doing lol...could've ruined me

    You're telling me!

I was in the marine corps in my 20's; we DID capture a lot of that stupid shit on video!

Do you recall the marines that were "ghost riding the whip" (which happened to be an MRAP) back in...2007 or 2008? Came out on NBC, Fox news, and other networks.

That was a personal friend of mine, who was also in the same company as me but in a different platoon.

When our platoon sgt and our company 1st sgt found out who the marines were in that video, they got busted down and lost their "leave" privileges and had to stay in the barracks after we got back from Iraq

same here. Checking the fuse and the bulbs is about as much advice as I can give on electrical lol. @BartMaster1234 would know but he's on his camping trip

    YEP!

I'm going to put this out in public even though I haven't talked to these guys for many years lol

Gorgeous Glen got his name cause he's the ugliest dude you'll ever meet :rofl::rofl:

From time to time, when we got a 3 day weekend or something, 1st sgt would huddle us all together at the end of the work day for his "libo speech". Mind you, that's over 300 marines all waiting to get off work so we're motivated!

1st sgt called out Gorgeous Glen and said "marine, who the fuck spends $900 dollars at a strip club and doesn't even get a blow job?!"

    :rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl::rofl:

He was always at Deja Vu in Oceanside.

Saw this gem of a "camper" setup this last weekend in SF. That's one way to use a contractor bed rack....

I don't think that piece of wood does anything to effect his MPGs...at least not enough to counter how dumb it looks lol. If he painted it to match it would look better

I saw one on the back of a tundra that overheated over one of the I70 passes here... it was built to look like a house complete with residential siding, windows, and asphalt roof. Must have weighed a ton

Definitely not. Wish I had gotten a picture of the back of it. It was quite a sight
