I know what you mean. I’d say just make a timeline first, then decide what needs to be done. I’m planning on either building or buying a house after November rolls around so I’m not doing anything I don’t have to for my current house.

 

well I know we've still got a lot of tasks to do to the house to really get our value out of it when we sell it, I just don't know how long that will all take.

a timeline might be a good thing..

 

May be worth putting that carport money in to “home value” things. Might help convince Amy too since it’d be to help get y’all moved to another home sooner.

 

so she literally just messaged this: "I want somewhere to park my car, and put my stuff, so if you're taking those things away, I might as well not even move in"

THAT is the issue. she doesn't want to live at her house, but she doesn't want to live at mine with the current things it's missing. rock and a hard place man.

 

Rebuild shed or tear it down, also the carport at the end of drive will add curb appeal, do it too since you want it, and you're unsure how long you may be there anyways.

Anything that has a chance to add value or you get 80% ROI i'd be happy with if I get a fair amount of usage for it.

Do what makes you and her happy. So if that means irrationally having to spend money on stuff for her (which doesn't end by the way), then do that. Sounds like she's pretty dead set on it though.

nah we wouldn't need that. she can fit her stuff in my house...she doesn't have that much and neither do I. I literally have an empty bedroom and an empty living room.

She's just picky about wanting to put her car in/under something, and after this weekend it seems her car parking in the garage is absolutely not an option unless I completely empty it out.

 

On a slightly different topic, my wife keeps asking me what I want for my birthday. I need some ideas...
