Has anyone mounted a tent on this one with the rails parallel to the sides? Seems like the tent rails are off by 1/2” or so and unable to mount it between the slots on the load bars. Maybe drill new holes through the floor?

If I understand correctly that’s how my tent is. I didn’t have to drill anything. Just line up the cross (length?) bars with your tent rails and you are good.

It seems to be off by a little bit. If I recall it’s in between when 3-4 holes are showing when adjusting the cross bars. It would work on the older style rack since you can adjust the bars with more leeway due to the slider. With the Max Modular you have the bolt holes that need to line up.

With the new system you will likely have to drill new holes (I did) but it is very easy to do. I have had mine on for about 10K miles and it’s solid.

Ah, alright. You just do them between the other sets of holes?

I drilled new holes in the “crossbars” not the “towers” where the crossbars attach to.

Received the MAX Modular ALUMINUM TACO MAX 10" High Toyota Tacoma Bed Rack. Shipping was fast, I ordered on July 28.

Will post pictures once I get it installed this weekend. If anyone wants any specific pictures let me know and I will see what I can do.

    Thanks again @KB Voodoo !

Has anyone bought the Max Modular URTC to use with a Diamondback Cover? If so, any pics, recommendations, reviews, etc??

They are currently out of stock, but would be interested in the URTC for use with my Diamondback.

Ya, I still use the tailgate for the bikes. It's a bit of a tetris game getting them in, but once you do it a couple times its pretty easy. I put the bikes in, then I put all my camping gear in between the bikes, fits like a glove. Planning on getting a rooftop tent eventually and I think it will all still fit as is if I take the bike seats off. I wanted to go as low profile as I could since I live in a condo building. If you got the 14" Rack you would have no problems getting the bikes in, might not even have to lift them over the tailgate like I do. Let me know if you have any other questions!

How does the 58" TACO MAX rack work on a short bed? Seems like the rear brackets would sit a few inches beyond the end of the bed rails, at least in a 3rd Gen. Anyone have pictures?

For this build was there any worry about the static weight limit with the aluminum? Looking to get the new ikamper mini when it comes to add to the top of the rack and not sure if 600lbs is enough.
