Whiteline. I put them in the freezer the night before. Once the old bushings where out I cleaned up the sleeve with a drill and wire wheel. Then I just slipped the Whitelines in. No press needed.

I made it up to big bear today. I got a late start to my day and got up there around 9. Saw some of the badass cars from the car show they were having and than I found this nice trail off of the gold mine trail that turned into a single track for bikes very quickly. Took some nice photos for the gram though! @redbeard_taco3gB3E9BCD6-B89D-4C09-A182-0DAB45CC50FE.jpg

What trail were you on that turned into bike single track? Need to know for potential biking on said trail.

Depends which route you take. Its mostly fire road, and if you stick to that then yea, a 2wd could do it. But there's several offshoots/alternate routes that are not.

If you stick to the main Pilot Rock 2N17 trail then yeah, it's 2wd friendly. As long as it hasn't rained recently or isn't muddy, I did that trail a few months back in the winter and I needed 4wd on it then. But in the summer you can do it in 2wd.

If you do the Pilot Rock 2N17X trail, that is most definitely a 4x4 required trail. 2N17X meets up with 2N17 about halfway through. When you start Pilot Rock from the staging area, about 1/4 mile in you come to a fork in the road. If you stay right you stay on the easy trail. If you go left you have to climb a very steep and loose hill with some big rocks/shelves at the bottom, that's the gatekeeper to the harder portion.

This!!!! @sicki Read above. I took the left at the fork in the road it is VERY obvious which route to take If you're not 4x4. Go RIGHT for fire trail. To the left you'll see the steep 4x4 route. The fork in the road is literally 1 minute from the trail entrance.

I haven't been to the right/easier section, but I plan to go with a buddy and his Subaru Ascent, a 2WD Ram Rebel, and a 17 Trd 2WD OR. We will take the right route.....both routes should have beautiful scenary overlooking silverwood lake.

If you want message me and I'll include you in the 2wd group. Trying to get a date (prob will be late August or sept) to go the 2WD route.

There are a couple side trails I think off the easy Pilot Rock that lead down to the lake, I see people head that way in regular cars frequently. There are some beaches and coves down there that you can walk to from the trail, that portion of Pilot Rock gets you a lot closer to it

Include me on this run please. I'd like to do the 2WD version of the trail before giving the 4x4 version a go.

Let me know too, I'd be down for that. Gotta break in the new tie rods lol.

Not to be confused with 'break the new tie rods' however
