I love her to death, but man this house stuff is a headache and a half with someone else's input/happiness having to be taken into account.

 

Its easier to just build a house together.

She gets exactly what she wants and you get to compromise on all your hopes and dreams.

 

Ditch the changes on the house. Get married, then make a happy home.

 

100% what I'd like to do, but she wants to sell her house and get out of her neighborhood so badly. she wants to move in once we get engaged, but she won't be happy living here if this this this and that aren't all done...and I'll be damned if I'm going to have her live her and just complain lol

 

I'm gonna go there but she should be happy to be there with you. House doesn't have to be perfect. One day at a time. We live in a world of I want it now. Took me 40 years to figure out, I ain't gotta have it now.

 

I again agree with you, but that ain't necessarily how it is.

 

Just work out the time line. Remind her of it every time she wants to change something about her temporary living conditions. Keeps you both on track for no big/expensive changes that you aren't going to be around to enjoy. My wife loves a count down to an up coming live event, gives her something to look forward to I guess.

 

that's a hefty amount of money for one of those that I don't have right now though.

 

I'd rather wait till I have enough saved up to just buy it. I'd also rather have a wooden shed instead of metal..

dude, it's y'alls first house as a married couple. She needs to think more about building a nest egg of cash than having everything she wants in the next year.

 

I believe VW had the best economical 4 cylinder ever produced with TDI. It's why they put them in everything, and people swap them in everything.

 

well we're gonna get a nice chunk when she sells her house, and hopefully an even nicer chunk when we sell mine.

 

just to use it all as a down payment on a house too big for 2 people lol.
