I'm thinking here we go again..... The dealer tells me that they have to confirm the rattle..... I explain that it only happens on my mile long rough dirt driveway..

They say come on down and we will go for a ride to see if the rattle can be reproduced... I ask if there are any dirt roads around and they say we'll see what we can do..

I go there and get the run around and they want me to sign a form saying that they will do the TSB if the issue can be verified.. I was not happy....

    Here is the good part:

A service manager goes for a ride with me to see if he can hear the rattle. We go about a mile and hit a bump and he says "oh, there it is I heard the rattle" with a smirk on his face..............lmao.. I looked at him and kinda was thinking WTF. He then said "yeah got to confirm these things".... We laughed and when we got back to the dealership he called his boss explained that he heard the rattle and got the go ahead to order the parts...

I walked out with a smile thinking what the heck was that all about and thank god I got him to go on the ride....lol Ass covering I guess............

Hope the install goes well.........crazy .......

It's good to know that there are service managers like that. I took mine to the dealer last week, they said they could reproduce the rattle since there are no gravel roads near by. So they took my word for it and ordered the part. I got mine done Saturday. No more rattle when going down my gravel road. The steering wheel feels a lot more solid, even when driving on the highway. Enjoy your rattle free ride.:D

dealerships are screwey. mine didn't even do the test drive, but i had to bring it in just for them to "confirm" it. part was ordered. i'm happy with them. they have to do their part for toyota and their part for the customer. it works out...

I have a 'certified' vehicle and told them about it and they said its NOT covered....

Funny they did the harsh ride TSB with no problem but this one they wont do.

    WTF

should I pursue it with Toyota or do you think its a dead issue ?

Yes, or go to another dealer!! I have a certified truck and that was never an issue.. IMO, if your truck is certified, all the more reason for them to take care of you!!

I took mine down to dealership and they did the same thing.....they said they didnt hear anything, but since i had mentioned i knew about the TSB they said "well...there is the tsb that you talked about, so we'll go ahead and order that part and take care of it for you when it comes in."

yeah I sent them an e mail and attached the TSB ( the truck was in for an alignment) and when I went in to pick it up they said it's not covered ..but already had a price to take acre of it.

    Hmmmmm

also told me that lifting my truck would void the certified warranty
