Wow. They have really done some work. We stopped by there maybe 10 years ago and it was basically a plaque and a ton of momentos that people had dropped off to commemorate the victims.

    going to be fun!
    Me too!

That Tuesday morning I had just got done launching the boat to go Snook fishing on the south side of MacDill AFB and while running to my honey hole the news broke. Then all hell broke loose at MacDill jets taking off balls to the wall, Air Force and Coast Guard units scrambling. About an hour later I was boarded searched and told to leave the area. You should have seen them boys when I told them there was a firearm on board it was priceless.

    FLAGPOLE TRIP 9/20-9/22

I am planning a flagpole trip and anyone is invited. Before I get into any details, we will be doing this trip a little differently.

You are responsible for getting yourself up there. I will not be coordinating a group ride to the top in any fashion.

I will be arriving at flagpole knob Friday late afternoon. Saturday I will be going down to Switzer lake for the day and kayaking about, hit up reddish knob for the sunset, and back to camp. We'll head out Sunday morning

Now, onto Flagpole details. There are 3 ways up to the top and here is where you start:

The hardest/fun way. Takes 1-2 hours depending how slow you drive. Start here

    38.473025, -79.062080

The easiest way. A stock subaru could come up this way in about 15 minutes.

    38.482195, -79.221149

Then the medium level, the switzer lake way, about an hour.

    38.572208, -79.144632

Camping is primitive, so bring anything you may need. If flagpole knob is taken, we will camp at meadow knob.

    38.506883, -79.154526

So far it is myself and my wife, and @ilubtimmyhos and his.

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
I'm likely for a day trip on Saturday. Depends on the father-in-law's health situation.

I'll partake in this. May just take the medium route up so I don't break anything and get stranded. Should be some cooler/nicer weather about this time.

Feel free to coordinate with anyone else in here so you have a buddy. I just didn't want to organize anything/want to do my own thing on the way up.

No worries. I'll see if I can get some folks together as it gets closer. And see who's brave enough to go.

Perfect! You could come out Saturday and yak it up, and head up to the campsite afterwards if you wanted to stay the night

The downside to this lake is no swimming or gasoline powered boats. The upside is it’s peaceful as shit there.

So 3 of our neighbors decided to call our landlord and complain about the front lawn. It’s been a week since I mowed, and the weeds were a little high in the flower bed, but god damn. Get a life and worry about your own shit. Or just come talk to me in person.

I was just finishing up mowing when we got the text too. Fucking pricks. So to be petty I moved my car out of the driveway into the street so only one car can fit by at a time.
