Flying out to WY at the end of the month and plan on bringing my EDC Glock 27. Going to grab a small lockable Pelican Case. I know pistol has to be unloaded, but I was wondering about ammo... Yay or nay on transporting loaded mags in the case, outside of the gun of course. TSA seems a little vague in their wording.

Anyone have a Henry Big Boy lever action rifle? If so, feedback?

    Depends on the airline IIRC

    This^^
Check your airline but I believe with almost every airline either in a box or in a container (I.E. mags, not loose in a bag) is the standard.

    • Magazines or clips containing ammunition must be securely packaged (placed in another small box or in a secure cutout in the carrying case, in order to protect the primer of the ammunition).

According to Southwest, it sounds like I’m good to go with mags loaded, as long as I have cutouts in my case for them.

    Appreciate it!

Got my slide back from Primary Machine, I may even be able to put some rounds through it before the end of the day.

Not to be an ass, but I haven’t seen a lot of great reviews of Holosun. Assuming it’s the optic.

The dot disappeared when it recoiled and didn’t come back, moving the lense around I can see a twinge of red but I’m not sure if it’s the coating or the dot, my assumption is the laser system failed but when I get home I’m going to pull the battery and see if that works.

They’re no aimpoint or RMR but the last long term studies I looked at showed them having a higher round count between failure than the delta point pro.

Hmmm... yeah wasn’t a dig on you or anything. Their price would typically indicate better quality. I haven’t tried the Leopold or Vortex red dots of that style, but I’ve used both extensively and have always had good luck. Sucks having just got the slide done for sure though!

I didn’t take it that way
I almost went with one of the Vortex offerings but the Holosun having the same footprint as the RMR and I already have a Holosun that I really like on my SBR.

    That makes sense.

That’s actually good to know. I have pretty much all Vortex for my spotting scopes, scopes and red dots. I’ll have to keep them in mind in the future.

Not sure, never had to use it but I’m sure they’ll make it right.

Started the warranty process this morning, pretty quick and easy but one big recommendation, Holosun needs to have a mobile version of their website because the desktop version on my iPhone 8+ was almost impossible to use.

    Trust me, you’ll know.

On a side note, I haven’t received a call or email from registering my sight or submitting a warranty claim but I may have fat fingered the email address, I’ll try resubmitting the warranty claim from a desktop this evening.
