NOW A FULL PART OUT-LS/4l80, linked, caged/full back half Tacoma prerunner

Put the new trans in the truck with a dummy block to check everything. fits really well with tons of space. need to modify my crossmember a little bit for the trans mount but thats about it.

Truck should be back together very soon! Trans is now in the truck and my engine builder just finished up the new motor. Ended up going with a more conservative engine setup than i originally planned for but this setup will be plenty to have fun with. Almost 600 hp and 500 ft lb of torque!

 

Looks like they stacked tacks rather than doing a proper weld.

 

If not tacks then it’s porosity. Both are trash lol

 

After you ls swap it. Did you keep it 4x4?

 

at first I did when it had a th400 trans and a atlas but after I swapped the 6 speed I removed the 4x4. never used it and I would have just destroyed the diff anyway.

 

New engine and trans are finally in the truck! built a new crossmember for the 2 piece shaft. have to install a new throttle cable and dipstick and should be road worthy.

 

Looks way better then my 5.3 swap tacoma

Only reason why I know is because my wife reminds me everyday.. Lol....what rear end are you going with? As soon as I get the time I'm going to rip out the 10 bolt out of the donor Tahoe. And drop brand new Nitro 488 in that bad boy

Ive already got a 9 inch ford with 35 spline axles and a detroit locker in the back. 4.88 gear. I destroyed the stock yota rear a long time ago lol

 

I'm not looking forward of selling my stock rear end. I spent a pretty penny last year rebuilding it as well. Currently it has 488 and ARB locker. Do you have a YouTube channel

Indeed they do lol just wasnt worth it for me to keep it. I never used the 4x4 when i had it. Plus adapting a atlas case to a 6 speed manual isnt the cheapest thing in the world lol
