Thanks guys for all the help. Today I swapped out the bad injector and had to replace one of the other injector seals as one got pinched and started leaking. Back on the road the check engine light is gone. So far so good and do I have to say with the 2.2 pulley, this thing pulls. Now I need to move on to a piggyback and a meth kit to help keep the supercharger nice and cool.

I don't know why so many people seem to dislike URD, I have had a great experience with their 7th injector kit. Tuning the whole thing with their PCU box was a breeze.

I have the file to tune it right that another member on here gave me, but I don't have the right computer to do it with. Someone told me there's a way I can use my Mac and download the older version of Windows for it but I haven't looked into it lately. I would really like to get it working better though because I still get some pinging with my 7th injector especially when it's hotter outside. If I hit more than 3psi of boost under 2500 RPM then it will ping. I don't think my 7th injector starts spraying until I'm higher in the RPM range and I need it to start lower.

I bet you need a 32 bit machine to run that program. I bet you can place your Mac into "vertual machine" mode to make it run as Windows xp or Vista. These were both 32 bit operating systems.

Ok I think I celebrated to early. Yesterday the truck was running fine all day and today I smell gas again. I think one of the seals is leaking again...
Is there a special way to install the injectors? I double checked to make sure the seals fit and didn't bind, maybe they moved while I tightened down the bolts?
I've installed a few different injectors before on different cars and its usually easy and straight forward. not sure if I'm missing something here.

Are you talking about your standard stock injectors for the cylinders, or the 7th injector on the supercharger? Been a while since I rebuilt a 5VZ, but I think the injector seals are slightly conical, therefore directional. My 7th injector didn't match stock, but I never had any trouble with it.

no I went with the option of upgrading all 6 injectors to a higher flow.

Nice. Definitely more of a permanent solution to upgrade all 6 rather than a bandaid w/ the 7th.

Are they used injectors? If so, pull them and replace all the seals. If not, send them back for replacement. No trick for replacing seals but you have to be careful when installing them, putting them in straight so you don't damage the seals.

They are new injectors and I already replaced one of the seal but today I checked the same injector blew out the new seal. It was a little tight going in but I moved it round and made sure it was seated. Is it possible I'm over tightening the fuel rail? Its wired because I moved the injector from cylinder 3 to cylinder 1 and the seal blew on same injector but a different location.

Did you lube the O rings during install? A small dab of engine oil works great to keep from pinching/rolling an O ring.

It's not so much the 7th injector system that URD sells. It is the God forsaken shitty software known as Split Second R4 that is used to "adjust" ( I will use that word lightly ) the fuel and timing. I would like to back hand the MFer that designed and released it. I am looking to get as far away from it as possible. I will even do a registry cleaning on my computer to make sure it is GONE.

Yes, I used some oil to lube the O rings during install.

Do you get pinging with the "stock supercharger" set up?
I plan on buying a supercharger but want to run it stock first before messing with the URD pulleys, injectors etc.

Yeah I did big time. Not everyone does but the 3.4l is notorious for it when boosted so I would budget for some kind of additional fuel management when you do the supercharger

Methanol is a good choice because it increases octane to eliminate ping and does a great job of cooling the intake. Heat is the enemy of performance. These superchargers don't have intercoolers so they get heat soaked very easily

I don't want to derail this thread, especially because I can search, but is adding an inter-cooler difficult on the taco?
Damn, kind of a bummer honestly. Its one thing after the other if you install the kit is what it sounds like.

Boost is a rabbit hole but it's mostly a fun one lol. The more you mod it the more you gotta spend $ to keep it balanced

I've only heard of one person that added an intercooler to their TRD blower but it's definitely not a common mod. Much easier to do a meth injection setup and you get the bonus of higher octane

Send the bad one back. Must be something wrong with it.
I've never seen it done so I'd say that yeah is probably very difficult to fab a custom intercooler.

The best you can do is meth injectors. If you're feeling crazy, run a chiller system (uses the AC to chill water) and run the intercooler pre supercharger so at least it's getting cold air :notsure:

    Or get a turbo

OP, when it comes to tubbing this is a great article. He explains how he got rid of the dreaded high load, low RPM ping issue.
