    Not many tornados either

Im all for the carport idea. Be great for staying out of the sun or rain working on a car. I think parking in the garage is silly if the car door doesnt open all the way :anonymous:

I wish. Humid, high 90s or 100s in the summer. Rains too much in the spring. Fall is nice. Winter is cold.

So tool stuff. My shop has heated floors and I want to add a lift. Since I can’t cut in I’m looking at the build on top type and was hoping some of you have some experience with them to provide warnings, advise.

Can you find the original layout??

Nice feature to have but damn that’s a PITA when you want to drill into it.

We did it ourselves and with no inspection required it was never mapped.

    Ugg...

3,000 PSI reinforced? How thick did you pour it?

What kind of lift are you thinking about?

    Be safe!!

Found this thread in the Forestry Forum- some good ideas.

Most of what you will want for information will depend on the specifications for the particular lift that you are going to use. If you are drilling anchors into concrete often your typical garage floor is not thick enough to safely anchor a lift. But the specifications for a 5K lb lift vs. a 12K lb lift can be quite a bit. I suspect the internet is full of hours worth of information. There must be a professional car mechanic forum around somewhere. You might be able to fire up the radiant heat and use one of the FLIR cameras that show thermal differences in order to map out where it is safe to drill and not safe to drill.

Easiest is lift first but gotta think ahead for that. Best bet would be to use a thermography camera and map out the lines. I left out a spot in the floor where I had the lift to be mounted and left myself some margin so I didn't risk hitting the lines. 4" 3000 psi is the minimum required for a lift typically, I did 6" 3000 psi at the lift pads and 4" thick everywhere else.

I went with an atlas PV10P, it's more than enough for the biggest truck I'll ever have on here, it lifts my F350 diesel no issues.

Yeah no issues with it, cheaper than plywood and it's 5/8" thick so I can mount shit on the walls and not have to worry about it falling off. Going on 3 years with it and been holding up great, I think the key with it is temperature and weather control, too hot/humid/cold and those changes can cause warping.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
I was going to setup a rack, but the radiant heat in my garage made it near impossible. So I’ve decided to just hold off. Used a flir thermal gun I’ve had for years. Sure you can rent ir get a cheaper one to find the pipes
