Any you guys near the Denton area want to try something new? I shoot in a monthly Short Range Benchrest match, and I will let you shoot my set up this weekend if you want to take a stab at 100 yard Benchrest shooting. I will provide EVERYHTING you need, you just pay the entry fee ($15).
I will provide the ammo, the rifle, the wind flags, the rest, guidance, and some mildly funny humor (humor is very subjective and may not be funny to all people all the time.... no guarantee on that part). I will guarantee that this is one of the (if not the) most accurate rifle you have ever shot.

    Small print.....
It starts at 9:00 this Saturday Aug 17.... but you must be there at 7:45 to sign in.
Match lasts about 2.5 hours (actual shooting time)
You will be required to fire 50-60 rounds (if you cant don't want to do that... I will let you shoot 1 or 2 rounds.... 8-10 shots).

Range is NTSA located in Sanger Texas and this is a "SCORE" match and not a "GROUP" match.
Group match = put 5 shots into the same hole anywhere on the target.
Score match = put 1 single shot into a predetermined place on 5 different targets.

PM if you are interested and we can work out the details...

    Here is the rifle:

    Here is a sample target:

Here is the view looking through the scope:

Here is the typical Benchrest crowd (a bunch of old guys):

I just looked up Warren Texas, and you are not too far from Tomball. They have these down there through out the year. I got down there twice this year to shoot. I can most certainly hook you up with several shooters down there. I actually have 2 complete set ups... when I am going down there next year, if you still want, I will bring both set ups and you can test it out.

LOL, My name is Warren, but I'm only about an hour south from there, Beaumont area. Let me know when you come down this way and I'd be more than happy to meetup

Yes it is an Osprey, also have an Obsidian. There are advantages to both. I have had the Osprey for 5 years or so and really like it. The offset design allows use of the tall sights. Even with normal height sights, the top of the sights line up with the top of the can. The Osprey will rotate a little bit after a few shots and you have to tighten it back up. After that it stays in place.

3rd Saturday of the month. That looks to be Sept 21.

But this is in Denton Texas..... You are close to Austin. I barely get to Austin to shoot. not enough people. They have a monthly match in Manor Texas…. but only 7 or 8 people go to it.

Stopped by McQueeney Gun Club after work.

First time there and was impressed.
    Place was basically deserted.
Might have been 4 vehicles in the parking lot.
Of which one was Taco w/rtt.

    Put some lead downrange.
Not wild about the brass traps under the firing line, but I get it.

    Will go back again.

    Oh.This thing followed me home.
