Show off your Mountain Bike!!!

Back in the day we did ride.....without all the fancy. Still got bikes from 1992, 1993, 1995 and they are still ready to go and have held up great. The one from 1992 even still has many of the original LX group components on it. I do enjoy the tech of now with FS being lighter and more flickable than bikes of yesteryear. Nostalgia rides are still fun tho on ocassion. People trip out on my 1995 Trek Y-22 whenever I ride it. It is actually my only carbon frame bike out of the 18 on hand.



Madrone Trail / Canyon Lake....made it with ease and fun

 

1993 Diamondback Vertex......low tech FS (see suspension seat post) Still jams like a mofo. Dig that twisted radial lace I did on front wheel. It has held up for decades...........still ready to go waiting it's turn. Also funky XT dual control brifters.

 

Here's another 17 yr old fun toy....circa 2002 Giant NRS Pro. Started with pristine frameset and turned it into this full XT funster..........still rocks

Just did about 17 miles with bright AF LEd headlight/taillight combo with no batteries required.....dynamo action on the commuter, no charging necessary ever, runtime = how long you make the pedals go round and round + about 10 minutes of city light on both ends when stopped. All the pedestrians must shield eyes and dunno wtf is coming towards them so I ring the bell on the bars and they hear the bluetoof speaker playing too. Them so confused. Loves my party bike.

Trails are more fun than greenbelts at night tho.........

 

I have a video but haven’t uploaded it anywhere. My buddy fell on my bike and oh my god the laughter is worth whatever scratches he put on it hahaha

 

Oh, I thought he was on your old bike in the video you sent me........dang tiny fon screen

 

He kept complaining about the iron horse. Couldn’t get the gears to work and it’s heavy and blah blah blah. So just to prove a point, I let him use my new trek and I rode circles around him with my old bike.

Even though the trek is 10000x Better

 

It's time to move on so I broke this oldie down today. They're kind of like guitars in some ways they're worth more as parts

Just tested for a new company in midland. So I’m out for a while. But the bright side is the parks around me look bad to the bone

Worth the trip from there to go to Palo Duro Canyon!!!

Oldie at Canyon Lake............mas trekizm

 

After a 3 year hiatus due to a nasty crash and injury I’m back on the horse. Came from a Santa Cruz Blur LTc, then a Yeti 575, then a Yeti SB6. Haven’t ridden a hard tail in 20 years, but after demoing this bike I was sold. Trek Stache 9.7. Only upgrades thus far have been RaceFace Chester pedals, set up tubeless and ODI lock ons. Will roll it like this a while, then decide.

BTW @Gunshot-6A rode a Yeti for years and never broke a rear triangle
