I have a question. The previous owner of this Tacoma has this bar on the front. I originally didn’t like it but got used to it as I added a light bar and other things. I broke one of the supports off-roading and was thinking of just taking it off. When I removed it, it looks weird!!! I’m not sure what looks better now. What do you all think?upload_2019-8-13_7-38-32.jpgupload_2019-8-13_7-39-46.jpgupload_2019-8-13_7-38-53.jpg

I've never been a fan of those guards.

It originally came with that grate thing over the lights which I removed. The first picture is the way I had it. Second picture is way I got the bar and last picture is now with it off.

    Like, so many.
Looks better without, in my opinion. It's just like an extended bull bar, right?

I was never either but just got used to it. I eventually want to get a front skid plate/winch bumper but need to get the money first.
For now I want to know if it looks better with or without.

Usually those things are lame and horrible for off roading, robbing ground clearance and bending/breaking if ever actually used. I've also personally seen a front end collision that was made worse because of it, bent in and smashed the entire front grill, headlights, and bent the hood when it otherwise would have just hit the trucks factory front bumper impact bar and likely caused much less damage.

I can't speak to that one in particular, just saying in general.

    I say take it off.

    What haven’t I changed?
It's your truck, do what you want. Personally, I would remove it. You said that you already broke something while out off-roading and even though it looks beef it will more than likely cause more damage to the front of your truck if you ever have the misfortune of hitting something with it because it doesn't tie into the frame mounts like a true plate bumper. If you wanted to keep the light bar, there are plenty of write-ups about putting one in the lower valance or behind the grill.

I like it without personally only good for pushing shopping carts out of the way. You can always get some hidden mounts to hook up the light bar in between in that little gap in the center of the bumper.
    Plus it’s already broke :notsure:

    Yeah it is.
If I keep it off, should I mount my light bar where the license plate is?
Also i would like to put a curved bar up top. Any cheap ones that don’t whistle that you know of?

I think that particular bar looks better on the 2.0 gen front then your 2.5. It hurts your approach angle and offers little performance.
I was going to get one for my truck and ended up with a plate bumper, no regrets.

Yeah I was deciding on whether or not to weld it back.
I think I’ll keep it off.
Should I try to sell the bar?

I guess what I was trying to say is, I like the look of not having a brush guard, as opposed to having a brush guard.

Of course. Even if cheap it's better than scrapping it.

It is pretty solid. Only reason it broke was because a top support was lose and the bottom snapped because of it. I can’t see it doing much damage to my car. if it did hit the bumper, it would push the bottom in, not the top into my hood.

Im thinking more on the side of looks right now. It never got in the way off-roading and just game me something to push shopping carts out of the way.

Just now that it’s off I don’t know if I should keep it off. I hated it originally but just never took it off and got used to it.
