Help a girl pick tires

So i'm pulling the girl card here and need some input..... These are the 3 options the Toyota dealer gave me. I live in the Northwest, snow and ice in winter. Main driving is around town but some highway and some mountain passes. I don't want to swap tires each season I want to run one set. What would you pick from these 3 or what's better than these.

Yokohama Geolander A/T
Firestone Destination LE
Dunlop Grandtrek A/T

Out of those 3 I’d go with the Yokohama I’ve ran those on a different truck and very pleased with them. Service life really good got about 60k before needing replaced.

 

I'd goto discount tire and get some Falken AT3w

Tires at the dealer are usually way more expensive than getting them from somewhere else.

 

If those are your only options I think you might need a new tire guy.
If I were you I'd consider getting the:
BF Goodrich All Terrain K/O2

 

Why would anyone go to the Toyota dealer to buy tires? That's like ordering a burger at Red Lobster.

I highly recommmend snow tires in the winter. Can some cheap rims on cl and for a few bucks enjoy the added traction

 

I second the Falken AT3W’s. Getting plenty of highway miles. Comfortable and quiet on the road. Haven’t let me down off-road, in snow, or on ice. And wayyy cheaper than the KO2’s

Avoid the Destination LE and the Grandtrek if you're looking for decent snow traction. You'd be better off with something more aggressive than either of those options.
The Falken AT3-W, Yokohama Geolander A/T, BF Goodrich TA/KO, and Goodyear Trailrunner or AT Adventure will perform much, MUCH better as all-around tires. They're capable of light off-roading, give excellent snow traction, but still run pretty quiet & smooth on the road.

But I agree with what others have said; if you told your dealer the same thing you told us, and those are the options they gave you...go someplace else.

 

Another resource is Tirerack. Also check some local independent tire dealers. The Toyota dealer options are limited and expensive. Costco has good prices if you have one near you.

 

The cooper at3 4s are getting rave reviews on snow and ice.

 

^^ Agree no need to go to dealer. OP is in the PNW and so I am going to recommend she go to Les Schwab. Most of their in-house brands are made by Toyo and they have good customer service.

 

Cooper Discoverer AT 3s for a good all around tire that won't break the bank.

 

These would be the tires I would look at if I was shopping for your requirements:

Cooper Discoverer A/T3
Toyo Open Country A/T 2
Falken Wildpeak A/T3W

I wanted a slightly more aggressive tire so I opted for a hybrid but I was considering all of the above.

Also, you could opt for a 265/70-16 which is about the same diameter and might open up some tire options for you. Or you could go +1 and get a 265/75-16 which should work with a completely stock truck.

Are you locked into 245’s? You can go to a version of 255’s or 265’s with no trimming.
