I really hate it when they put my tech number on something that others have worked on before..
Being thrown under the bus before you even start a job doesn’t set a good tone for the day..

Came close to decking a buck sgt (3 striper) when I was an A1C (2 striper) for something similar. While I was in the C130 hellhole installing an autopilot gyro, this numbnut went on the flightdeck and signed off my job in the aircraft forms using my initials and forged my signature, then went back to the shop van (bread truck) parked in front of the aircraft. I got done with the install, ops checked the system, and went to sign off the write-up, when I discovered his helpful indiscretion... I had the punk by his front collar on his toes cussin' him good in the back of the van. If I didn't have him by about 6 inches and 75 pounds, I'd have probably hit him. Apologized to the TSgt (5 stripe) female expediter driving the van later; she told me if she felt I was wrong she'd have stopped me, but she never said a word during the confrontation nor after my apology. I miss those days when we weren't so concerned about feelings, when right was right and wrong was wrong.

Morning. I've got a screw in my right rear tire on my '98 Tacoma. found it yesterday afternoon parked at home. I could not get the lug nuts to loosen. I use manual 4-socket wrench. got a 3lb hammer and patiently tapped the wrench multiple times on each lug nut, round and round. The lug nuts loosened, all 6, but one of them only got tighter, and then stopped. Figured it had to come off, so I just twisted the stud off. I would not have been able to have changed the wheel out on the road, glad I was at home. Taking it to the shop who replaced the tires 9 years ago. Been a good set of tires on a low travel vehicle. Old tires, but still good tread. Have only changed one other flat tire on this in the 20+ years.

Well just got back from a week in West Texas. It was 108* yesterday at 3pm and when I rolled out at 7pm last night to come home it was still 106* and that was just stupid hot, + heat index... Hopefully I wont have to go back out there to often.
I have worked in sub-Sahara Africa, the Middle East, Indonesia and Central/ South America and the landscape in West Texas was some of the strangest I have ever seen. For a desert it was mighty green and one guy told me it is because they have had more rain this year so far than in a long time.

Happy to be back home after a 12 1/2 hour drive.
Astro and the wife were actually happy to see me.

All is right in his world now and he has pretty much been sleeping all day since I took him for a drive, just because.
