What you gonna replace it with?

 

lol I'm probably not going to sell it, just toying with the idea. if I sold it I'd want to immediately purchase an FJ or something to replace it, but pocket some of the money.

 

You'll miss the bed of your truck as soon as you sell it....

 

I don't use the bed of my truck now...never have. I have the decked drawer system and a bed rack.

Well, I guess you don't need a truck then! I use my truck like a truck. The bed and all my tools in my toolbox are valuable to the hobbies that I have. Camping, hauling firewood, hauling big ass bucks I've killed during hunting season, gravel, mulch, kids' sports functions, tailgating, etc.

take the buck out of that (which I don't hunt) and you can do all of that in an SUV too. or just get a small trailer lol.

 

True! Don't sell your truck man. You'll stand out as an oddball on all of the future rides! Because you know the FJ can't keep up with the Tacoma....

lol I don't care if I fit in, and I'm not really pursuing this...just thinking about it while I'm bored at work. I'm pretty sure an FJ would keep up, and in some cases perform better than a Tacoma offroad.

Very true. I sometimes wonder if mine would ever sell with all the work I’ve done welding directly to the frame.

 

You've done so much work to your truck. It's yours. Who knows if the FJ you pick up won't be someone else's problem? I know you're thinking out loud, but you got a nice truck and it's gonna cost to get a stock FJ to be as capable as your current truck.

 

I'm sure it would. My truck isn't a financial burden at all, so I don't care if I ever sell it or not. Just wonder if I'd be better off with something different since I really don't use it for a truck at all.

 

lol well sure, but I would sell the truck for a lot more than a stock FJ would cost and would have money to modify then, if I didn't find one already modified.

 

I mean, we can make it in to a truggy if that's what you're wanting. I'd love to do that

 

nah I'd do that with an old 80s Toyota with a factory solid axle.

 

Get an '85 or below. Preferably an 84 or 85, since that's the year Toyota fully gusseted the axles from top to bottom.

 

Well you just go sell your truck and jump on the FJ bandwagon too...
