It's all good. Just want to encourage your inner diy if you were ready.

Same here. I'm confident in my ability to follow the steps and load it up. The pirate techstream and TSB sources are what make me uneasy.

its not that big of a deal. theres been tons of people here that have done it with no issues. just follow the steps to get TS setup and you'll be fine.

Interesting take. All that I can say is that I loaded mine with the TS and TSB data posted in the MT Update thread. Zero issues on my Taco and the 2018 that I did. The TS source was given by OVT to start with.

I recently overlaid TS V14.10.019 for 2018+ Tacos on top of V12.10.019 with great results also.

I do get your paranoia, but the numbers here that have used the same data put me at ease before I stepped up July of last year.

I've bookmarked the the threads with the info and instructions but that's going to be plan B. I have a dealer about 5 miles away which will be plan A. In my expierence getting anything done at the dealer is a pain in the ass but thinking I might let them change the oil and ask if they will do the TSB at the same time. Hoping making a little $ on an oil change will sweeten the deal for them lol :D.

    Incoming.

I just loaded it up and tested the connection, only getting in as far as the Customization menu. I just did it incase someone with a 2018+ wanted some free customizations.

I had one of the first TSBs done on my auto while I still had it and I spent longer trying to convince them to do it than the update actually took. I didnt even bother trying with my MT as I knew it would be a waste of my time. It took me about 20 minutes start to finish, including finding all the TS links I didnt save.

I used to have them do oil changes, until I found the oil canister severely over torqued when I went to change it myself and decided I wasn't doing that anymore either, even if at times it is more convenient.

Sorry if this has been asked, and I have gone through 10's of pages, but is it possible to share a cable and buy just two tunes?

Yes. The registrations are tied to your specific PC and vehicle, not the cable.

Anyone clocked their 0-60 times before and after the tune? Obviously, not the most important part of the tune, just curious...

TSBs are free, or at least the have been for me. Tell them your truck has the symptoms listed in the TSB. It also helps to have the TSB number ready to give them. Even better is a print out of the TSB.

The key part is when they ask what’s wrong with your truck you tell them all the symptoms listed in the TSB

@OVTune This had likely been asked beforebut I'm too lazy to look. Is there an OVTune for the 2.7?

Most of the time they don’t know the TSB even exists...
