OVTune 3.5L Tacoma Supercharger and Twin Turbo Systems

Funny enough I was watching LivePD a while ago and some cop in Sacramento pulled over the loudest, most riced out car and had him pop the hood lol

 

One big red flag for the state to catch illegal smog certifications is when a person fails a test and then suddenly passes it no problem on the following test. That's why if you intend on going the illicit route you should just do it off the bat and don't try and pass the smog test initially. If you fail it gets logged in the system and any smog shop that might consider taking cash for a passing test is likely going to turn you down because you're a much bigger liability.

Just what I've 'heard' from those that have done it before...have had to look into this myself over the years because while my supercharger is CARB certified the URD 7th injector is not.

And it's not quite as easy to do as it used to be, they don't have to have an undercover there to catch you. CA also does random roadside smog checks and if you get pulled aside for one of those and fail, and they see that a shop passed you recently, you and that shop are in trouble. The shop gets hit with a huge fine so the state collects more than just a $1000 ticket

 

Only knew that smell are straight test pipes, and even then you shouldn’t smell it in your cab unless your windows down and have a side exit exhaust. My GTI had a nearly straight pipe (it threw emissions codes because it didn’t scrub enough) and it didn’t smell at all in the car.

But yeah, unless you’re going with big turbos (KO3/4 are not), the exhaust isn’t going to be a limiting factor.

@OVTune once the turbo kit becomes available for purchase, will customers who already ordered the catted pipes need to email you for pricing minus the cost of those pipes, or will that become an option on the product listing?
