How good is this Decked System at keeping all your stuff inside dry? Any small leaks or anything? My UWS truck box has been keeping everything inside dry for 13 years now. I like the concept and could definitely see the benefits.

haha man I have no idea what he is, he's just in this area. I want to say he's most like one of the IE's (Industrial Engineers). I was blown away how someone could just not know that...especially an adult.

that's what I said to Amy! Did this guy just get a car and has been on a bicycle the last 30 years? Has he never drank from a cold cup that sweats? MIND BLOWN that he doesn't know what condensation on the AC is...I mean the guy was flabbergasted when asked if that's what it was...just clueless.

Tell him to do the AC condensation mod, so the Fe2O3 won't eat away at his frame

You'd be surprised at how kids coming out of HS nowadays, have like zero skills. You could lay a bolt and nut on the table side by side, and they wouldn't know to pick that nut up and screw it onto the bolt. Sad really...

I don't let my kids sit and play video games from the time they get home from school, till 9pm, which is their bedtime. I just tell them that they are not playing video games in their room all day long, or else I'll find something constructive for them to do in the yard. Like mow grass, rake leaves, move firewood, pull weeds etc. This helps them to manage their own time better, they don't like doing constructive things in the yard! lol

Technology isn't a bad thing, you just have to monitor it. I hate that today's society basically makes it where kids do in fact NEED phones or some form of communication with their parents when they're young now. I didn't have a phone till I was 15, and that's only because my sister was 1 year older than me got one when she started driving and they got a 2 for 1 deal lol.

I hate the topic of video games, everyone over the age of like 35 or so "vIdEo GaMeS aRe ThE dEviL aNd CaUsE violence". Yeah BS, get off your high horse because you don't have anything else to blame. Yes, monitor the usage. Yes, don't let them play all day every day. But to take them away 100% or only give them like 30mins a week is just stupid. Make other things fun, too. I love video games, always have, always will. But I loved to go out to my friends farm and play on the hay bells or go exploring in the woods just as much. It IS possible to have balance. My future children will play video games, just like I do. They will also have fun doing other things, just like I do. You want to find out if a kid is violent? don't give them video games, give them a nerf gun or a toy sword and see what they do with it. They shoot you in the face and beat the shit out of you with the sword...

I actually disagree. I don't think "for the most part" is true. I think the ones fully dependent on technology and absorbed so much into it are just the ones that are publicly voiced, because well...they are giving in to the media.

We don't hear about all the "normal" or "regular" younger people because they aren't all over social media all the time. I definitely believe there is an increase in the "irregular", so I'll call it, but not "for the most part".

It's like people saying stuff is more common nowadays, when statistically it isn't...you just hear about it easier because of how easy it is to access stuff and what the media chooses to discuss.

I don't think they are the devil, I don't see any value in spending 4 hours a day playing video games. It's the biggest waste of time IMO. No value comes out of it. I'd rather my kids have nerf guns, toy swords and boxing gloves, which my kids do. My boys box each other, supervised by me or their mom of course. All of my boys hunt and fish with me, so they know the importance of treating every firearm as if it were loaded and to keep it pointed up and down range. They have learned to treat toy guns like real guns. Every household is different and video games suck kids in and enable laziness more than anything else. I've seen it all too often with my friends' kids.

I think they are beneficial. They promote fast thinking and decision-making, they can help make new social connections, they can reduce stress, and statistically kids that play video games are less likely to be bullies.

I'm not saying have your kids play them all the time, but just because YOU think they are a waste of time, doesn't mean they are. Yes they have negatives, everything does, but to tell your kids something is a waste of time is going to make them always view anyone who is involved with video games as just useless and they won't be respectful.

    Balance.

You can't promise that. They may not know the same information you did, or what you think is important, but they know as much or more in a lot of cases.

Look at the curriculum in schools now. Calculus used to not be an option period in grade school. Now kids can take it as early as 10th grade in some schools.

Don't tell me they don't know as much as us because maybe they don't know how to change a tire. That shits on the parents, not the school, or anyone else.

To say that nothing has changed over the last few decades, only the access to the media has, is just laughable. A WHOLE lot has changed over
That's the key, balance. My kids are active in sports and hunt/fish/hike/camp, but they are not spending all Saturday playing video games, because it's not productive. Yes, I'm from the camp that thinks video games are just a waste of time. Promotes fast thinking and decision-making? Come on now. If you can dodge a left jab and right cross, then that's what hones your fast thinking and decision making, not Fortnite, Sonic the Hedgehog, or Pac Man.

lol we'll just end this discussion here, as you said you are from the camp that thinks they are a waste of time. that says you won't budge on your view, no matter if the other view has any logic or reasoning to support it.

I never said nothing has changed, btw. Clearly some people haven't.

I can promise you that. I've seen my kids grow up from diapers til now. I've seen all of my kids friends and they are NOWHERE near knowing the skills that their mom and I did when we were young. I took Calculus as a Junior and Calculus II as a senior. They don't even offer Calculus I, until you're a senior in HS now. At least in my area, they don't. Everything changes when you have kids Scotty. I can promise you that kids WILL change your way of thinking real quick like.

that's fine, stay in your mindset sir. don't tell me my way of thinking is wrong because I don't have children, though. what you believe and what you see isn't true for everywhere. once you learn that, then discussions can proceed in a better direction.

younger generations have their issues, often they admit it.

older generations have their issues, but I'll be damned if they ever admit it.
