Agreed. I heard the “unicorn” term several times while looking for my Tacoma. In April 2015, I found a 2015 DCSB V6 6MT 4x4 after searching a 300 mile radius for a few months.

6 speed MT is fine, haven’t heard of tranny issues

 

True, but it's still a rusted out heap. I think it has about 235k. Odometer quit working about 2 years ago now lol

 

There was an issue with the early 16 MT getting locked in gear

aside from that the only issue is reverse is too damn high..

I got my 2lo mod though to take care of that issue. I just need to get around to putting it in.

 

My uncle in Kansas has a very old Ranger that my cousin claims is still running very well
not sure how old it is, I should go visit him, he is into his 80s now

 

Pssssshhhhh. No way in hell will ever own another one. Ford's are a bitch to work on. My dad has an 02 ranger and that was a bitch to work, I had an 01 ranger and that was also........ A bitch. All I do with this truck is change the oil. Something major goes wrong then it goes to the junkyard. Can't complain too much because it can take some abuse
