TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

Yeah I think with the 6 speed I should be almost on point with stock gearing, maybe a tad higher. I'm ok with that. Dropping like 12 lbs a tire I'm hoping will give me alot of power back

 

From all the research I’ve done. 285’s and 4.10’s gets you back to about stock. That’s what I’m gonna do with one of my next mods.

 

believe that equates to 48 lbs of rotational mass per wheel. there's a hp calculator for that. but yes, definitely butt dyno noticeable.

 

I went from 78 lbs a tire and a 3" pulley to 55lbs a tire and 2.5 I'm getting closer to being satisfied.

 

Depending on how much OT i get in the next month, probably going to be picking up an HP Tuner and a 2.7

Here’s a question......I finally got my tune from OV. He set it up for 2.7 pulley.

I’m still running a 2.825 pulley and haven’t switched it yet. Can I run this tune with my current pulley or should I wait.

 

you should be just fine. I ran his tune with a 2.5

 

You sure about those numbers? 55 lbs wheel and tire?

You must be running a super light tire.

My tires were 42 lbs new. 66 all up. I thought that was pretty light.

I ask because I have the original tune he put out for the s/c guys. This is more of a personal tune he sent me based on me eventually getting the 2.7.

 

yours are lighter than mine. I'm over 70 total. the TIRES I about the truck with were 78lbs. ugh.

 

You should be fine. You may run a tad richer until you put the 2.7 on, and maybe less timing to account for the slight increase in temps from more boost a 2.7 would generate.

 

I finally got my wideband sensor installed yesterday, and I really wanna drive the damn truck but I am waiting on my new floor to show up at my toyota dealer

On the plus side I sound deadened the floor, front doors and back wall. I may have went too ham because I cannot get my rear seat things to go back in now. Ill figure it out when the damn flooring comes in tho.

Fuel rails should be coming soon, which means fic injectors and smaller pulley can be installed as well! I am finally going to be joining the 2.5 pulley club.
