TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

I bought the vinyl flooring, getting rid of the carpet. I like my weathertech mats but I figure full vinyl floor makes cleaning easier since stuff still gets on the carpet even with those mats.

 

I really need to do the vinyl floor mod.

 

Post pics after installed. Been debating myself on getting this done. I do wonder about cab noise on carpet vs vinyl.

Didn't even know it existed until I bought my current Tacoma and it was a selling point for me.

 

What fuel rail did you get? Debating on bigger injectors too. for 2.8 I can prob get by but for 2.5 prob go with some 650cc like the cool kids.

I went 4.56 when I had 285 AT no SC and it was a perfect setup in my mind. I went to 315 KM3's and wish I had 4.88. Really looking forward to see what the SC does combined with the gearing.

 

My Issue was while the gearing might be nice, especially with the 6 speed, the weight really killed my power. While it would probably be easy to just add more power, that shit gets expensive...I've also realized I want to go with slightly more reliability and 35s are just rough on the truck. I think ima be happy with 33s and 4.10s.

My dealer told me the one I bought was the last one in the US, but I had a feeling they may be full of horse poo just trying to pressure me into buying it. Jokes on them, I was gonna buy it either way.

Will do. I did a bunch of sound deadening and insulation so it shouldn’t be louder than the carpet was but we will see.

There was a group buy for a custom cnc fuel rail. Sadly it has ended. It’s mostly a bling item if I am being honest but there are a few small benefits. 2.8 you will ne more than fine on the stock trd injectors. 2.5 you need more fuel, either from bigger injectors or fpr mod. I went with 650 cc FIC injectors. Should be more than I ever need.

 

It's a true performance upgrade. The fueling stability benefits won't be realized since the power level of the TRD s/c can only go so far.

 

I need some pics on this one. I am getting ready to tear out carpet and adhesive for welding and would love to do something else.

 

Instead of carpet there is a plastic/vinyl flooring option.

 

yah makes sense after having them I may go to a skinnier 33 or 34 next time around. i still really like the 4.56 on the AT but even 4.3 would be nice on the MT. 4.10 like you said was prob spot on with the MT gearing. My buddy with 35's loves his 4.3's on his MT transmission.

 

Totally, I had forgotten that this was an option for the 2013 models. I recall wishing I had knew it was an option

 

I've always been nervous about working on diffs myself. I guess I could learn it via the onlineiverse just like I've done with everything else. How did you teach yourself?

 

nice if you set the gears yourself this is impressive. I did mine but with completed thirds/clamshell from ECGS which was plenty of work itself.

 

I got the Radiator... still waiting on the SC kit. I was thinking about of installing the radiator ahead of time as well.

 

Do it at the same time. You'll save yourself several steps and make the supercharger install easier to boot.
