    True.

Either way I discipline with a very powerful need gun. I'm sure we can avoid bad behavior

5 years is about all you can get out of a daily used tire. Learned that the hard way on Cupcake's old Rav4, some ass way upsold her a few years ago and she got 70K tires when she drives 10K a year. Things had good meat but all the sidewalls rotted.

That said, with your storing the tires as you have I'd say if it passes the visual scrutiny you'd be good for the season.

You are the only one I have ever heard say a child is easier than a dog. People literally freak out all over the place if someone ever thinks to suggest that. I've been even attacked for claiming that 5 dogs is similar to like 1/2 a child.

I think your friends don't care enough to train the dogs different and are happy with how they are....sort of like how a bunch of little kids can be complete assholes but the parents think their angles..

And then there's the 27,000-42,000$ over the course of the dogs life, depending on the dog.
Where as a child raised untill 18 is 500,000$

And let's be honest, it's rare the kid who moves out at 18 anymore.

God, I hope not...the kid is 19 though and just got his first job. I'm afraid I might be in for a long haul with this one.

Now hold on a minute... what age are we talking? Because infants are absolutely easy. Many times easier than any dog. They just sit and laugh and cry and spit up and poop and sleep. Occasionally suck on a bottle or mom. After they start walking? No contest, dogs are so much easier.

I don't have any kids but I know I'd rather have a dog than a kid, but I like other peoples kids!

I don't think it's a debate. More of an observation on the previous very rare comment/opinion about kids being easier than dogs. I don't have kids so I can't enter any debate on that anywho.

    Morning all!

As long as there's no cracking visible they're fine to run. I had tires dated from 2004-ish on my plow truck until a couple of years ago, when they started cracking in the tread face.

The idea of tires 'expiring' is moderately BS; the 'soft limit' on selling them is 5 years because the manufacturer's warranty starts from the date of installation, not from when they were made. So if a tire has a 6 year warranty and it sits on the shelf for 5 years before being installed, that means that the manufacturer is then on the hook for any defects for 11 years after the tire was made. And even when they do start to go bad, it's not like it happens overnight. The tires will start weather cracking on the exterior layer of rubber (which has almost nothing to do with the structural integrity of the tire) well before any of the cords in the carcass are compromised, so you'll have plenty of warning that it's time to replace them before they get dangerous.
