Carvana has offered me $31600 for my 2yr 2017 ORSB 4x4. Oddly enough it has gone up $800 since last I checked in January. That is approaching the same price for a new 2019 ($32,000-$33,000 in our area). Now to be fair, my truck has really low miles on it, but still interesting how the value has actually increased. The dealer offered $30,000 claiming the tax savings made it only $500 less then the carvana offer. All set and done out the door It would cost me about $3500 to $4,000 to trade up and get a manual.
When I started this process I was only looking to refinance. But even my credit union only offered 3.5% interest. The dealership offers 0% interest (Southeast Toyota). It would have cost me nearly $2,000 to refinance with the credit union. $2,000 for nothing or I could spend $3500 and get a new truck. Two more years warranty and restart the depreciation clock. Unfortunately that will not work out for us but maybe It'll work out for somebody else. Now I just have to decide if I'm going to sell it to carvana and pick up a little beater or stick it out. I love my truck and would hate to see it go.

I also received an offer last week from the dealer that was $50.00 more than what I paid for my 2017 towards any other new Toyota vehicle...sight unseen with 23K miles on it. I was getting service work done on my wife's car and a sales guy approached me in the showroom as I was just "kickin' the tires" on the new stuff in the showroom.

Same with my 17 TRD Pro. Gone up in value but I did add a cap and running boards but I was expecting it to go down when I last checked.

That's why I bought a new 2017 instead of a certified used 2016. The used truck was only $1000 less, and with 15k miles on the clock!

I got offered $1000 over what I paid for my 2015 when the 2016s came out. Dealers couldn't keep the used ones on their lots and we're listing them used for more than you could have bought them new.

This settled down after the first recalls and 6 months passed. I was blown away at the time, but it shows you how much people value these trucks.

I traded in my truck (17' OR) a few months ago and got 31k trade in. My truck had pin stripes all over, tires had torn lugs from rocks and wheels were scratched badly from rubbing against rocks.

The Tacoma's hold value insanely well.

Wondering what my mint condition, one owner, never off road, 2005 Access Cab 4X4 with 110,000 easy miles might bring on out right sale. And please spare us the bad “head gasket” narrative. Kinda new at this, so be kind.

Now I'm really interested in what I can get for my 2019 SR5 4WD DCLB with under 7k miles on it. If I can get 30k for it I'll do it in a heartbeat.

That’s part of why I went with a new one. I was looking at 12-15s and besides not finding a dclb or 4x4 the short beds were in the 27-32k range. For 10k more I got what I wanted and without any miles.

How much is your sales tax ? Mine is 6% so 30k would be 1800 which would be 31,800 which is more than Carvana .

    I bought new in 2015.
    64B50A75-E324-4071-9889-70E17858C3E9.jpg

I looked for Used thinking I’d save big$$$
Everything had 109k and were $20,000. Typically I put 25-30,000 miles on per year. So I told my wife I can buy new for that price. Maybe it didn’t have all the things I wanted but figured I could flip it in a year or 2 with the crazy resale value. Internet sales/walk ins/phone calls to salesman my search was on. Hit 29-30 dealers with offers and got as low as I could (2015 Prerunner 2wd dcsb Magnetic Gray)$23,000. Sticker was $28,900.
2 yrs later I traded that in on my ‘17 with 4wd.
    86691CDA-EA49-49BA-8A9F-FE480C844D26.jpg
With tax savings from trading it in(about $1,400), transfer plates, and again using 29 dealers best offers against each other , I practically stole it.
I owe about $10k on my truck now. I believe my ‘17 is worth way more than $10k..lol
    Time for a trade in!!!

I paid 30,000 for a used 2019 SR5 crew cab with 18K on it. The dealer also had two 2016 TRD sports with 30-40k for about the same price. I like that the one I got is still covered by the factory and then also has the overlapping Toyota certified warranty. [IMG]

Carvana offered me $500 for my 2017 DCSB Offroad with 25k miles and the technology package. My truck was in a minor fender bender which I guess they want nothing to do with, similar to Carmax. Carvana is in a spending phase to get their name recognition up so I would jump on their offers right now.

I actually just did it again and my offer was $143. The accident was super minor so idk what is up with their offers lol. I guess any accident to them means they don't want to deal with it. I guess when it comes time to sell I'll get a dealership quote or sell private!
