Help a girl pick tires

I just took these off my truck they were awesome! Now trying the Falkens

 

come back when they get about 15K miles on them and your siping of the tread blocks disappear, and traction becomes worse than original rugged fails. Originally my AT3's were great, but once fully width siping disapeared due to how the AT3's are designed traction dropped off like a rock. I could easily go another 20k on the tires with the amount of tread depth that is left, but im ditching them as soon as i can for some Defender LTX's

 

I had the same experience with the AT3's -- great at first but they got progressively worse after 15K. At 35K they were in the wear bars and I warrantied them out. Never again.

 

Heres a couple suggestions.
1) Don’t buy tires from a car/truck dealers. They have a very limited selection, they are not experts on tires and they are quite expensive.
2) You can forget TW for much in the way of advice regarding tires. As you can see everyone has an opinion, it’s mostly based on what tires they currently have on their vehicle and not much else. There’s no consensus, everyone likes what they have because it’s what they have and since they have it , it’s the best.
3) Find a discount tire store like Les Schwab or Big O, or Tire Pros or some other place you feel comfortable with and trust. Tell them what you’re looking for in a tire and your price range. If you are not happy with their suggestions then go to another tire store.
You can get a lot of good and expert opinion on TW but two things it’s a waste of time asking is best tire and best oil. There are hundreds of threads on those two subjects and if you read everyone you still wouldn’t know much more than before you started.

 

i have been very impressed with the snow/ice performance of the yokohamas on my truck (driving the sierra nevada). that said, my next set will probably be the good year duratrac since their offroad performance is better with similar snow/ice performance
