Yep, I bought my 2015 in the spring of 2016. I had been hunting for a used 2nd gen prior but everything was 100k miles and 25k. I spent 6k more and got a brand new TRD sport with 31 miles on it.

I just recently traded in my 2016 TRD OR DCSB tech/prem with 21k miles. The dealer gave my 31K for it. Used the equity towards a 2019 TRD Pro.

Time to call your insurance company and make a claim on the lost value of your truck. Just forward the Caravan estimate

I'd stick it out, wait for something you REALLY want to come along - something that won't make you sad to see it traded in.

Carvana offered 30,853 for my 17 Sport prem and tech , running boards and hard tonneau with 13,500 miles . The way I see it when the 2020's come out ( very soon ) it will be 3 years old , great value .

    Edit -- I'll give 2K and my truck . Lol .

Wow! How many miles on it? Clearly it's never been in an accident or they would have offered you $300

With all the dealer incentives right now, its almost cheaper to buy new than used.

I traded in my 18 with 6K miles and got the same amount trade in for what I paid before TTL. Insane how these vehicles hold their value.

Don’t know if this is true, but was talking with a guy who had worked at a Toyota dealership and he said people were leasing the Tacomas and the lease end buyout was lower than the actual value so they were buying them and some were selling them at a profit. Never done or even considered a lease, and he was a used car salesman, so there’s that.

They jump on good used cars to be able to resell them with higher financing rates... people with worse credit can qualify for those easier.

I bought my old 2008 Tacoma sport brand new for $22,000. Drove it for 8 years put on 70,000 miles and sold it in 2016 for $21,000. Took 1 day of listing it on Craigslist to get what I asked. Used that money as a down payment on my 2017 :)

You are completely forgetting any financing costs and taxes.
In my state it would have been $2,200 in taxes on the first truck and $2,300 on the second. Plus $3,500 upgrade costs.

Thats a lot of money to piss away.
