Looking at a 1997 Tacoma LX w/ supercharger in FL, I'm in MA

Hey guys, I found a nice looking 97 Tacoma with a factory S/C on it in Florida, but I live in MA, so the logistics of actually looking at the car is kind of tough. I will give you backstory and thoughts and questions below.

I found the truck on eBay, it has 197k on the body, but has a new engine in it with 72k on it. The factory S/C was taken from the original engine, and put onto this engine. Per the owner, everything in the cone (snout?) was checked, bearings were replaced and new oil was added. The truck has a "professional 6" lift on it, he does not know the brand. The truck also has been been painted in the last 2-3 months, has new motor mounts, has "both clutch starts replaced," and a new starter. Frame looks good from the pics. The truck has spent most of its life in CA, a short time in CO, and FL for the last few years. The guys is asking $8,900. He has sent me plenty of pics and most of it seems to check out.

Does this sound like a good deal? Also, what should I do with the frame if I bring it back up here, what is the best form of protection for it?

 

The 6” lift sounds gross but other than that it doesn’t seem bad.

 

Yeah, I would probably swap that out with a smaller one. I'm not trying to be driving in the sky.

 

That’ll take a lot of work, I’m pretty positive the cross member get cut up there for all the 6” lifts I know about.

Well crap, that's not good. This guy seems to know nothing about the lift too, so he will not be able to tell me any of the specifics.
