If he was, then you call city parking enforcement and they will come tow it away along with the tickets and impound fees.

    NYC my guy...

And for the oh so creamy icing on the cake, the tow truck came like 30 min after that and I had to pay the guy cash to get it off the back

Easier to pay the drop fee than the impound fee.

I gotta say..... you kinda had it coming then, given the small amount of info I have.....
Illegally parked in front a known crime family or at least affiliated with crime family. Then sued them over it.:fistbump:
Good luck on future endeavors and make sure that life insurance and health insurance are real good policies. ;)

My pleasure. I struggle with this stuff so those kinds of checklist articles help a lot. I used to live in Fort Greene so I know how tough Brooklyn can get in terms of parking and what we will loosely call "conflict resolution." Do you have a good place to get your truck modified? If not, check out American Tire in Yonkers (not a bad drive). Good folks. It was hard for me to find a good place in the NYC vicinity.

Best of luck to you on all fronts.

Yeah, it's brutal out here sometimes. Fortunately, the part of Greenpoint I live in is usually pretty easy but it's easy to make mistakes when you're fried and there's no paint on the curb.

You know, I do not... That is awesome to hear, will definitely look in to that spot. I went to Henry's on Meeker for years and they're fine. You know how it is, some days they're great, some days they completely drop the ball. Went to LIC auto on the rec of a friend who used to run Brooklyn Moto and they did a good job with all the tune up work. Never, ever going back to Bay Ridge Toyota again. Total assclown shop. So much for wanting a dealer service to hit the carfax.

You got a name for a guy at Yonkers? Name I should drop? Where you at now?

I just recently (last September) bought my '06. Since then I have done a ton of preventative maintenance... replaced fluids (both diffs, transfer case, and power steering), had intermediate steering shaft replaced, replaced all spark plugs, and got new upper control arms. The upper control arms were not necessarily needed, but was told it was going to get rid of a clunk I hear which turns out to be coming from the front bumper supports. But for $7k you seem to be getting a good deal, I paid over twice that for mine with 114k miles on it from Michigan (where I used to live until just recently).

I know it is brutal. That is why I had to leave. :). I know Greenpoint pretty well. But that area is changing. Soon there will be no parking.

I hear you on Bay Ridge Toyota. I know there are a lot of people here down on dealers. It is people like Bay Ridge Toyota that are the reason for that.

American Tire in Yonkers is good. They don't just do tires. Very nice people with very reasonable rates. Ask for Mike -- I think he is the son of the owner.

I moved upstate. Love it. But I do miss Brooklyn.

I'll definitely take a look into that spot when it comes time to throw on a lift or do any other serious work. Thanks bud.
