    Yup.

I still have the original in my center console, complete with scratches, rust/iron particles and other bullshit all over the tip lol.

yep, one of the many issues(CPS) I haven't had.

service mgr just called he's only had it an hour, said his tech said - oh, it's the CAI that's doing it, put
everything back to stock (not going to happen) and test it. I told him that sounds like bs, it's been on there
for over 3 yrs. and he thinks after all that time, it's just now causing a CEL & trac control error?

Hey I just had an oil change last week and my cel and TRAC off light came on less than 10 miles after on the next morning drive cycle. I did the battery disconnect and tighten gas cap 4x and it worked a few hours each time. Just got home from dealership and had to get a new purge valve as they said it stopped working.. funny how after 80k miles (50k on tune) and it’s never came on. Oh well at least it’s off for now

oh well, they flat out refuse to test or check anything if I don't get and install the OEM cai back in there.

Sometimes I miss the old 60's vehicles with direct connected throttle to cart. Only warning lights you had were oil and temp. Lol
    The simple life :D

While I get the sentiment, I also don’t miss carb fuckery, especially in cold weather. Yeesh.

One of the reasons I said sometimes. I remember the cold mornings feathering the pedal so it won't die till its warm or having it fall on its face pulling into traffic.

    ... or altitude... humidity... .

...though I did get good with an 2V Webber on a Scirroco.

This is why I always preferred the old Bosch mechanical CIS fuel injection from the late 70s-80s from my old watercooled VW days...stupid simple and effective.

Has anyone running 2.0 got the TC to lock at 35-45 mph?

So, while we are all twiddling our thumbs, watching and waiting for Mat to drop more 2.0 beta magic...
I will wax on, nostalgic, about the silly shit we’d do with old cars that you probably can’t get away with now (48k+ posts, I won’t be the first to go rogue).
I can remember when the thermoswitch for the electric fan on the radiator of that Scirroco went out and, feeling poor, I used speaker wire and a toggle switch I found in an electronics parts bin and wired a manual control under the dash. (Note on masking tape: TURN ON FAN WHEN DRIVING!) Or when the exhaust rusted off and I borrowed a retired Cherry Bomb from a friend’s garage. “I can get it to fit.”
    Ah, the good old days.

This was posted at 03:00 this morning. Anyone know if the updated 2.0 beta tunes are now available, and if so, where?

    Thanks................Frank
