You should be able to raise the rpm limit in hptuners, I don’t have one yet so I can’t say where it is. But be warned if you are boosted it is not wise to raise the limit unless you understand it is increasing the chance your motor will go boom.

Thanks @HPTuners for the quick response on updating the flash process. I know there will always be a risk but it’s nice to know your here to help out to limit any future issues.

FYI stock TRD cal is already 200rpms above (5800) a NA cal of 5600

This is interesting. I would assume toyota would be on the conservative side when it comes to the rev limiter. Sounds like i may be able to raise mine from 5500 a little bit and still be safe

Yes but can you imagine 6800 rpm? That poor 4.0 wouldn’t stand a chance. I am surprised the trd cal is higher. When/if I get my hp tuner I will bump it back down to 5500 I think.

Now that i think about it more.. there's no way im raising mine since im running twice as much boost as the stock TRD charger. About to drop a pulley size too, so that wont make the motor any happier

Thanks! But I’m confident in the process. We each drove 3 hours to meet up with each other. No spare Ecu present.

Just took all necessary precautions and that was that. Uneventful.

I'd love it if my truck peaked at 7k. but I don't have the bank for a motor able to tolerate that. even @Torspd has the ability too but doesn't. I'll follow his limits.

@JustDSM is right. I am the lab rat that received the tune/flash. All coms working with the beta. If you have problems with your flash, it’s on you. IMO.

Edit: I am even new lab rat according to my ecu.
