Maybe because I work in the industry at shops for the last 12 years, I am biased, but damn i feel like you're overreacting slightly. Yeah it was there on the site as a TRD Pro but like others have said they probably didnt know the difference and the response from the manager was more professional than I would have guessed you'd have gotten. My room mate was an internet sales manager (in charge of posting vehicle ads) and he didnt know the difference between TRD Pro and a PreRunner. He also had 20-40 cars every couple of days to list if not more. I bet it was inexperience not deception on their part. No ones perfect and theres no reason to forever condemn someone JUST on that alone. My 2 cents.

    Over reacting-no.

Going back to my original post in this thread,,,

I find a Tacoma on a list such as car gurus, autotrader, cars.com, whatever. I click on it. I scroll to the VIN , highlight it, then copy it. I go to the Toyota VIN check website, paste it there and within 10 seconds, maybe sooner, I get a page that shows exactly how it shipped from the factory, where it went, date of first service, and how it was configured.

Try it with your VIN. The link’s in my sig.

20-40 cars every couple of days equals 10-20 cars a day. At least with Toyotas, it would take about a minute, maybe two, per VIN to get it right.

I could probably go on an “over reaction” rant right now but I’ll stick with my assertion that when it comes to advertising, there really shouldn’t be any question about what it is, at least for Toyotas.

Good luck with your search for a white one! They made less white pros than all other colors. During my search I looked for black badges and the smoked headlights to be sure the listings online were pros. Of course those can be changed but most people don't go through the trouble. At least it will get you on the right track when browsing through listings.
