I searched and didn’t see any posts pertaining to this, but has anyone attempted to add polyfill to the oem sub enclosure to get a little more punch out of it? I’m not looking for anything crazy just a little more without having to turn the bass up all the way on the head unit.

If the Tacoma sub is like the 4Runner and tundra subs, there is already polyfill in there. Or more of like a mat of the same material compared to pillow stuffing. It might get you a little more. It’s super cheap so give it a shot and let us k ow how it goes!

Oh gotcha didn’t know it already had stuff in there. I haven’t even folded the seat down yet to look at it but I’m hoping it doesn’t have any dealer tamper-proofing to pull it

no, it wont have anything like that. However, it's not an "easy" task
    Process starts at 1:52
They take out the seat bottom which is not necessary.
Also, this is a 2nd Gen, but the process should be nearly the same (if not exactly the same)

There is no polyfill in the stock tacoma box. I just replaced my stock sub with the pioneer 2ohm 8" sub and its noticeably better! It was only a little better until I put polyfill in the box.
