    I like it!

    I want to Line-X mine.
I’m pretty much tired of washing and detailing my truck so I want to line it just so nothing hurts the finish if it bakes on for weeks at a time.

I dig that a lot! Thinking about doing it to mine but I just can't pull the trigger on spending that much right now. Touch up pen will do for now ;)

I wonder what a full line-x job does to resell value?

Most who do it, like me, aren't ever going to resell their vehicle. I've had mine for 13 years and I'll drive it til the engine blows, then I'm getting a new crate motor for it and putting another quarter million miles on it.

I loved the original Indigo Ink Pearl so it was an easy decision to stick with it. Considered tan or OD green but that's done too much. The blue was unique and it matches all of the door jambs, gaps, under the hood, etc.

I think I agree with you but I’m not sure what language this is? :notsure:

I doubt the people doing it are concerned with resale. Same thing goes for crazy long travel kits. Hell I only replaced my gen2 because it got totaled. Not once did USAA ask about the paint. Why does it have to be “vintage” to be a labor of love? Also curious to know what year your “vintage” truck is? My 2019 has vintage cement paint, guess because it’s stock.

The real question is, why are you so angry that someone decided to linex THEIR truck? No one said you had to linex yours.

Come on Gary, you’re better then this! o_O

Thanks for posting, OP. I was just thinking about doing this the other day and up pops this thread. My truck is not even on it's second oil change yet and it already has tons of rock chips and scratches. I'm probably 10 years away from my paint being trashed enough to warrant this, but I will do it some day. I just love the idea of pressure washing it clean and plowing through brush with reckless abandon. The time saved on babying the paint over the next 20 years makes the price much easier to stomach.

Love this truck and how they painted it. My stepdad has an old gen 2 that the paint has went bad on and he is going to raptor line it in the original green color so the jams don't have to be repainted. He has over 200k on it and uses it for everything. Think bed liner looks tough as nails!

Truck looks gorgeous, is unique af, is basically invulnerable, and can be washed and look great again in 1/8 the time. Why the fuck is there so much hate? And IF he ever wanted to sell it who in their right mind in the market for a used truck would look at all those advantages and not whip out their wallet even faster?

    It's glorious, OP. Jealous AF.

Yeah he said he used to work for Line-x. And I agree on the quicksand. If I had 8k laying around, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Just a bunch of old crap
I had mine done at a professional painter with better product, color matched, and a bunch of body work fixed for almost half of that. He's been doing show cars for over 30 years and he's been working with this coating for a couple years now. He did all of the trim removal/reapplication, masking, and totally fixed my roof and hood stripping them down to bare metal and putting a thick polyester primer. Took 3 weeks but the quality was worth it. I saw some of the crap coming out of the Line-X shop and it was chipping on the edges and there was overspray and other issues. OP got a quality Line-X shop apparently because his looks super pro.

    That’s awesome!
    I love it.
I was thinking about doing that in Blue in mine.

Hope you got a shit ton of mileage on your American Airlines credit card!

I have family that pull up in the driveway and knock the door into the car (wife’s car) and then they say..”it wasn’t us.”
I might need to coat my wife’s vehicle with this stuff. I just don’t think that’ll fly to well as a lease vehicle.
