I have 3 other jobs with another one lined up... I have no desire to stay. I generally make more at the other jobs anyways... Now that I am thinking of it there is no point in bringing it up. Ill just move on and leave them with a good image of me..

Verry good advice. You are so right. Ok. Thank you. I just wanted to bitch and moan... guess I got it out here instead hehehe

Best of luck, as you walk out with your head held high. It's called professionalism.

yeah no kidding, when i saw that comment the "smart ass comment" wheels started turning in my head, but as soon as i read the follow up sentence they immediately shut down :(

i'm in a similar situation. we are being straight up abused here at my work. unfortunately there are no other options at the moment. it sounds like you are fully prepared to quit. did you really get another offer? my advice would be to talk to the upper management about some concerns, without getting too detailed. depending on what they say, i would go ahead and quit, or stick it out if you think it will improve. fortunately, you are in a unique position to be able to walk away if they dont accomodate you. lucky.

btw, you're letters are way more professional and well put together than mine will be. i intend to put in my two weeks by delivering a knock on a door, then presenting my middle finger. no words, short and sweet.

I'd say since you've decided upon your course of action, go ahead with your current plans.

That gives the companies two weeks to decide if they will miss your services or not. If they decide it would be better to keep you around, then you are in a position of leverage to negotiate terms you are acceptable with when they decide to counter-offer.

If they decide they don't want to do that, then you are in the free and clear and happier for it.

The freedom to be able to walk away from a position is probably the strongest negotiating tool an employee seen as an asset has. If they don't see you as an asset, then you're probably better off not being there anyway.

Hahaha yeah in a way.. I would like it to be known just how bad things really are. We have had numerous people quit, and the majority are people in my position. They have been with the company for years and were some of their best assets. This is not going to end with me, as I already know of two others with the same credientials as me that already have dates set to quit. I would also like uppermanagement know what is going on if they don't already.

LOL sorry...I think that saying really captured how pissed I am but knowing you guys the follow up comment was also nessicary.

Yes, I currently have 3 other jobs. One of which called me asking why I have not been working (obviously I have not had time due to school and having so many jobs) and saying that they want me to take some shifts.
I don't think they can offer me anything to stay, this is not really what it is about. Whatever they offer would only be too little, too late.

lol thank you. I would love to just tell them to fuck off but I would like the reference better, they already know how I feel.

Like I said earlier in this post I do not think they have anything to offer me that will make me want to stay in this hell hole when I have other options.

I know they see me as an asset, my boss just likes to act like they don't give a crap which is half of the reason why myself and two others that I know of right now are ready to walk. I want them to know that she is not as she seems... and that there are many more holes in management that needs to be addresses in order to run an organized operation and keep the few senior employees that have not quit already.

Agreed. They are well written, clear, professional and make your point very well.

If you see no chance they will remedy your grievances, they are fine letters.

One thing though. If you didn't get their promises in writing, (promotions, pay raises etc.) then hopefully you will make sure to do that in future.

One of my ex-employers had no issues about promising new employees they would sponsor them for citizenship/green card, do reviews/raises, and then denying when it came time to come through, or putting someone at the end of the line because they didnt like them much.

In my experience verbal promises from a corporation are worth the paper they are written on.

I would try and keep those letters positive. It would be great to go off on them and tell them how you really feel, but you might need a reference from them some day. If you have done a good job, they will say good things about you UNLESS you piss them off now.

If they ask for details about why you're leaving, then tell them nicely. Maybe you'll get a counter offer.

I hated my last job, but my resignation letter was very positive, even though a lot of what I wrote was bullshit. Now I am to the point where I will be looking for another job soon, I am glad I did not burn that bridge.

I too thought both letters were very well written.
I have had tons of really good jobs that I liked and had every intention of making a career out of. Unfortunately, the people that I worked with were total douchebags.
You were either in the "click" or you weren't going anywhere.
Appreciation is a wonderful thing. For my cell leader or shift coordinator to say "nice work" or "Thanks, good job", that means more to me than almost anything.
If you don't feel appreciated and it looks like a dead end, I would move on.
It seems as if you have done everything that they have asked of you, and then some.

Very good point. I could have gotten it in writing even though the pay raise and such were depending on my performance, obviously that was not the issue. I will be sure to handle it this way in the future.

Ohhh thanks for being the first to quote that lol... Hey I have every right to be mad, they didn't even kiss me after :(

Ahhhh your right. I have not submitted them because I wanted to cool down and clear my mind first, and not only make sure I was making the right decision but also that I was not going to hurt myself in the process. Trust me the day I posted this it took everything I had not to just walk out.

LOL I get paid every week, so that would be two paychecks for me. :D
Which I will need to make it to and recover from my Vegas trip (TW Meet) So I had to keep yall in mind before doing this

I completely agree and have had this discussion with another manager that i see as "a friend". She is half the reason why I do so much, I don't mind helping her out because she appreciates it and shows it. Had I worked under her all this time I would have been in a much better situation. I came in this job expecting it to be one thing and it turned out to be something totally different.

LOL that was kind of a joke... I miss the restaurant business (or quitting it LOL) all I ever did was walk out and I would have a new job by the next day :D

Dinner is on Tuesday the 6th... I will let you all know what I decide to do. I found out I am not the only one who plans on bringing up some grievances with the way things are happening around here..

First letter is complete and to the point.

Don't submit the second letter. Don't burn bridges even if they are higher up. Take the high ground and move on. The second letter benefits no one except airing your personal feelings.

I would attend the function that you have been invited to but keep it professional. You never know where it may lead. Don't submit the first letter until after the attending.

    Thank you,
I have decided against the second letter and will not be submitting anything until after the meeting. I am still debating if it's worth saying anything at the meeting, probably not.

    Thanks for the advice!
