Well, currently it's just plugged with a cover. I bought a vss on ebay but it was clearly the wrong one. I have an 04 Tacoma so I need the electric sensor.

Lol... I'd much rather have a bouncing speedo and pass smog. I'd say you're quite lucky in my book. Thanks for responding it's much appreciated.

Can you show me the one you bought on ebay?
Might be able to figure it out. Mine came with a plug as well. That's because some vehicles used ABS as speed sensor.

Lol yeah I figured when it went all the way in haha. Anyway what bothers me is that it said 4x4 4Runner vss. Good thing I got it for like 3 bucks haha. Anyway, do you happen to have a pic of how yours looks? Or which one you bought.
    Thanks

Yeah, on the post I posted in here, and on my thread I show what the 2WD sensor looks like.
This is what your looking for. Feel free to shop around. Note that the gears have different teeth amount. That will give you different speed readings.
You can search the forum for more info on that.
    https://www.amazon.com/Vehicle-Sensor-CHEVROLET-83181-12020-Warehouse/dp/B079R16ZZJ

Note the difference with the 2WD and the 4WD. 2wd has longer shaft smaller gear, the 4wd has shorter shafter bigger gear.
