That's If you call what's posted on the Internet reliable data.

I don't, as many will come to the internet to complaint where they were wronged, such as their battery only lasting 2 years, however hardly anyone will will come to the internet to celebrate where their battery lasted 5>6 years.

Boy, the original Panasonic battery came with my 4th gen 4RUNNER lasted 11 years and 160k miles.

Of course it’s made in Japan and not available in the USA.

My OEM died in Hawaii right before it’s warranty expired, so I got a free replacement. Put my NorthStar 27F in when I got back to the mainland and have an extra OEM one just sitting around for a rainy day if shit goes sideways again.

    not enough.
I'm 3 years in to the month, and 62k miles and still good. I'm expecting it to go out soon so I've got a jump starter on me at all times and getting ready to buy a battery but until then...just gonna keep going!

My old Tundra's OEM battery failed at 30k miles (2 years old). I was currently living in Fresno, which has has 30 day stretches of 100+ degree heat and winter lows in the 20s. Don't batteries hate extreme temperatures?

Excessive heat shortens battery life more than extreme cold

My battery is showing no signs of failure. Bought December 2016. The only thing that wore out quickly was the crappy Goodyear Wrangler ATs. 23k miles out of those piles. Truck has 52k, and the BFG Ko2s are wearing great. Another 20k, it looks like I’ll get out of them. 265/70/17 Load C.

    Yep, that's true.
Funny that in the old Die-Hard battery commercials they always showed batteries in extremely cold weather, never in extreme heat.

Some cars come with some form of OEM battery insulation to extend the battery life. You can even buy battery insulation kits, such as: Design Engineering 010480 Cell Saver Battery Insulation Kit - https://amzn.to/2Zu4MsV

Chevrolet issued TSB #99-06-03-002 "Battery Insulator Replacement" for 1999 and prior passenger cars and light trucks that cautioned dealers to replace the battery insulator if it is damaged or missing, and not to omit installing it when replacing the battery. If the insulator is not installed, the TSB warned that it could considerably reduce the life of the battery by exposing it to higher under hood temperatures.

The Panasonic battery in my 2005 4 Runner lasted from March 2005 through November 2018 roughly 13.5 years! I had 169K on the vehicle before trading for the Tacoma.

Top end batteries will go 84 months. I used to sell them. OEM batteries outside of AC/Delco are junk Johnson imho

Kind of surprised… I just looked under the hood and saw these batteries were made by Johnson Controls. Those are generally very good batteries perhaps this is an example of lot rot

Keep in mind that Johnson Controls make batteries for many of the name-brand battery sellers. However all Johnson Controls batteries are not created alike as their batteries are typically manufactured to their customer's design and specifications.

For example, Exide is another battery manufacturer who manufacturers and sells batteries under their Exide brand and they also manufacturer and sell batteries to other batteries retailers. However their batteries manufactured for private brands will not necessarily look like or be built like their Exide branded batteries.

Makes sense. Kershaw sells knifes that are Chinese and American made. Take a guess which are better.
